i know you all probably get this a lot, but im new and looking for some good advice to get goin. ive been using maya 5, and ive been modelling an Audi TT with polygons, and just wondering what some of you guys use, programs and techniques. are nurbs prefered over polys or subdivisionals?

anything is appreciated

Hi and welcome !

The model you got there isnt bad for starters.

As for program and technique I would say that its really up to each person

Wether its nurbs with Rhino, polymodelling 3dsmax, splines in Lightwave or the various techniques in Maya it all comes down to which technique that has a workflow that you like

As long as you dont use any crazy approaches .. (like booleaning out a whole car from a single box or such) you should be fine.

I use polymodelling with nurms subdivision in 3dsmax and Im happy with that

Good luck !
