trueSpace : what do you think of it ?
Dear SMC members,
That's been a while since I discovered the wonderful job performed by some talented artists with NURBS. I mean, clean surfaces, high level of control on shapes, and so on.
As an example, merging two surfaces with a given curvature radius is a common task. With polygonal modeling, you have to take care of topology for each surfaces, to make sure they can be connected, then deal with the surface subdivision modifiers to get a nice result. With NURBS, just add the right connecting surface, you're done.
Given the NURBS features of your 3D package are allowing this, of course. And obviously, the previous statement doesn't apply at all to my beloved favorite software, Blender. Blender is a wonderful software, evolving faster than any other one. Many great artists already proved how it's capable. But when talking specifically about NURBS, it looks like it forgot to improve since decades.
So, I looked many times ago about another software for specific usage as complementary NURBS modeler. My quest was completely unsuccessful until today : I discovered trueSpace. It's not a Free Software (as Libre) but it's free (as cost = $0) so I want to give it a try.
Here my current post. I would like to know if some people have some feedback to share about trueSpace. Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for answering.
