This is something I've always been really curious about. How many of us do actually have a job in 3d, being it for film, games, advertisement, arch viz, freelancing, vfx, etc. and maybe the lucky ones who actually work for car companies? I know some people do this as a hobby, but i'm sure the majority tries to making a living out of it, i'm just curious at how many actually do it and in what area.
I'll give my example. Finished my 1st year in a master degree in fine arts (for solid foundations in 3d), so 2nd year is thesis. I'm currently unemployed, had a few interviews for some studios but haven't got a call back, so apparently i'm not good enough yet for the market. Been studying a lot of 3d in general and building portfolio (not only cars ofc ) so I can hopefully land an internship/job as soon as possible.
What about you guys?
