BMW 645Ci - problem with modeling (Rhino)

Hi guys, especialy Rhino modelers. I have a problem. I dont know, how to model this parts, look: http://www.cgart.cz/bin/bmw6-prob.jpg
I dont know how to model furrows on front and back side, doors i have modeled. Plz help, if u want, i can send to u part of model which u need to look. THX

BMW 645Ci - problem with modeling (Rhino)

Since you havent got any answers I might try help you. I think I would start make those parts so that I would divide it several peaces(depends how complex the part is that how many and how small pieces it need to be broken). To me its easier to model that way. Dont know is that good way to model but it's only that works for bonehead like me . Maybe someone could advise you better.

Of course I want to make this side parts from several pieces, but I dont know how to make place, where is furrow which is on all long of side of car (front side, doors and back side)

BMW 645Ci - problem with modeling (Rhino)

i too am trying to learn rhino..... so ill be watching this thread to see if i can get any pointers, so far, im just doing all the curves of the car and when thats done, ill worry about having to surface it... gl to you cause im not having any myself LOL all the tutorials ive found so far are blah! they dont go into detail about stuff like you would find in some 3dsmax tutorials. my msn is securitycadet@hotmail.com or my_own_account@hotmail.com ...... maybe we can help each other? even know we are both trying to learn LOLOLOL (actually wants rhino users on my msn so i can have a 24/7 customer service on modeling in rhino hock: :lol: hock: :lol: hock: :lol: hock: ) heh

I don't have the models with me at the moment, but I'll post the pictures, so you'll see how these parts are done. These are very common to many modern cars.

Generally speaking, you can make two or three surfaces and fit them together using "Match Surface" command. Or you can make a single larger surface and move the control points, so when shape is ok you cut off all the extra areas.

The rear fender is more difficult, you'll have to do it in two steps: 1. you do the fender as it would look without the edge on the side of the car. 2. you make the side of the car and fit the surfaces to the fender.
