3ds Max blueprint setup

Hey,

In this pic, the prints are set up correctly. The problem is when i set up mine, the front blueprint is in the opposite corner of the 3d persective. As you can see the front blueprint is at the back of the car in the Audi TT above but my Back blueprint is there instead. How do i correct this? Will it cause a problem when modeling concerning placement of polys.

it's not a big problem if you model with this settinges i will probably have to mirror the full model (once you have finished ).Anyways you can find a good tutorial on this purpose here http://www.onnovanbraam.com/index.ph...blueprintsetup
good luck

cant i just create the planes and start modeling instead of shifting the blueprints to match. will it affect the car itself.

Sorry but because of my (very) limited english I don't understand your question.
If you want your car looking good you must place your blueprints as precisely as possible the tutorial worked pretty well for me.
Hope somebody else will help you better than me
good luck

OK Here is the latest.

In the render, it appears correct but in the perspective shot, it does not show [circled area]. how do i show it up. I tried 2-sided image but it only appears in the render.

The reason it only shows on one side of the plane is because you only see the surface from the opposite direction that the normals of the plane are facing.

But you can force 3dsmax to show it on both sides by checking the 2-sided options in the shader basic parameters of the material. If this doesnt help you need to check your graphic driver settings.

OR ... just use a thin box instead of a plane.

OK. here it is. im guessing that i will have to rotate the "TOP" image by 180 degrees to make up for the opposite.
