Vehicle Artist Opportunities - UK Games Industry

Afternoon,
I’m interested to hear from 3D Vehicle Artists who are looking to work in the UK Computer Games Industry. My clients are the UK’s leading Racing Studio’s who produce titles for the PS2, PS3 & Xbox360 & are looking for talented Vehicle modelers to join them

The role of a Vehicle Artist would involve working in a specialist team with other artists designing & modelling Vehicles for forth coming games. Unfortunately we’re not looking for Freelancers. The majority of UK Developers have their own outsourcing companies in Asia so the positions would involve working from our clients UK based Studios.

This is fantastic opportunity for artists who are really serious about working in the industry. You’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the most prolific Vehicle artists around, the opportunity to work on Next Gen console Games plus a competitive salary.

Previous experience within the Games Industry isn’t necessary; we’re looking for artists who are able to continuously produce high levels of quality work

Requirements
 Solid 3DS Max skills is a must have
 Experience using 2D software such as Photoshop, etc
 A varied portfolio of high quality Vehicle Models
 A solid understanding of automotive design
 A real passion for Vehicles & Racing Games

Salaries range from £15K - £45K. For more information, please feel free to email us.

Regards

Nathan

V8holdenfan - Please reread the post. This person is not looking for freelance work. He needs people to work at his studio.

its actually just a recruitment firm, they have no solid job offerings other than ones posted on UK game companies websites,
whilst most companies post listings, they are not often looking unless they see exceptional talent, with the exception of possibly London based studio's who seem to give chances to in-experienced artists.

im not downing recruitment firms by any means, but I seem to have had far better luck and found alot more possibilities than what any recruitment firm has managed to find me (I'm in the UK)

also, its better to get out there, knock on doors, use snail mail etc, the web is faceless... theres only so much you can portray in an email

but yes, as redstar said, these guys aint after freelance work, only sign up to recruiters if your looking for full time studio work, and are available to re-locate

GreenVampire,
I appreciate your feedback on my post although I believe you're misinformed. We do currently have job offers with several studios here in the UK, not just London. Yes we are looking for exceptional artists, the level in the Games industry is very high. For those not quite at that stage at the moment, we're happy to help & advice on entering the games industry.

Using Games Industry recruiters can be beneficial, if you choose a good one. Some wont give you their time unless you're already in the industry, some will. The only way of finding out is by contacting them. If you don't feel they offering you the right advice, choose another one.

UKGames Recruitment are a preferred recruiter for the UK's leading developers, which include Racing Studios. Anyone looking for Help or Advice should contact me, not take advice from people who aren't recruiting for the industry.

Our new website UKG Recruitment will be live over the weekend, so check back for all our vacancies. Our website will show the amount of vacancies we're currently dealing with. Cheers all.

Nathan

I forgot to mention. GreenVampire, you're actually in my friends list on DeviantArt. "Gamesrecruitment" We've been in contact before.

Still feel free to give me a shout if you need info on permanent roles Martin. I don't take internet postings personally, although I must set the record straight for those not in the know

Cheers

It wasn't ment to be personal by any means, I was mearly expressing my experience with recruitment agencys overall, not any particular one... sorry if my post came across wrong,

I am now however working fulltime freelance for a games company, thanks for asking though.

I wish anyone the best of luck in finding work in this industry, because it can be difficult to get into, and I do not discurage people to use agencys,
all I am saying is that dont forget about the basics... get out there, contact people personally

Hi Greenvampire,
Not to worry, I understand. To be honest you when I first starting developing UKGames I received a lot of feedback from candidates who've had bad experiences with recruiters. Not just graduates or Juniors either, some of the top guys from Sony & EA were quite unhappy. If you pick a good recruiter then they can really help you & open a lot of doors. Others will send your CV out to all their clients & unless they have an opportunity, It's unlikely you'll hear anything back from them. Not cool really.

Congrads on the freelancing opp. Wouldn't be with the guys who developed GTR by any chance
You have my details so feel free to contact me anytime.

Cheers

cheers Nathan,

I'm glad to here you guys do things differently, I must admit, other recruiters I've been with were as good as useless (hence my apprehensive attitude to recruiters in general)

Im working for waisoft at the moment, not sure who the guys are who developed GTR ?

If there is a need for a 2-D illustrator with packaging design, layout and mock-up experience, I am available on a freelance basis. Photoshop is one of my daily tools. Cars and all of their details, infrastructure, and mechanics are my passions. Samples of my drawings are available in any DeWALT tool instruction manual.
