[Maya]Tell me where am I doing wrong

I am modelling for some time, but not on cars, and on cars I haven't succeeded in finishing a car that is done without a tutorial, where am I going wrong?

As I model, I see that the model is getting worst, and worst, can it be that I will never finish a car on my own?

I can upload one of my recent projects for you to see where am I going at when I model.

doesn't look to bad IMO... maybe try to avoid tri's as much as possible and try to keep a smooth wire.
Other then that, it doesn't look to bad for a first own made car

Yeah, not that bad indeed, maybe space out some of the lines a bit (some front to back lines are a bit close together) ?

No, I mean, I can model, but I can't decide when to add more detail to the mesh, and what to start with, I just can't seem to be able to think on my own

well first of all it helps when u choose whether its going to be hi poly or low, mid poly before u actually start modeling, so u can sort of picture already how much detail u r planning on doing, what its purpose (of the model), what shape it'll take, all before the actual modeling, from their u then go ahead and start working on the mesh, hi poly u would most likely a very smooth mesh that has clean lines but at the same time holds a great amount of detail, low poly , well, quiet obvious, try to use a little as possible the polys, but at the same time be able to give it the basic shape, so its recognizible.. just go on from there

So I suppose Low-poly should be the first step, than move on to high poly?
