Animation prob in maya 7

Hi im fairly new to maya, and when i make animations using autokey i hit a little problem...
when i am rotating a car, after about 180 degrees, during animation it rotates the car by 540 degrees, so it does a full 360 then goes to the position i want. attached is a video of the problem...

PS sorry for the low quality video, but u get the picture

chances have it is that because your using auto key, when you rotate it, if you take more then 1 movement to rotate (if your using the mouse to rotate rather then the channel box) each time you un-click its auto-keying it,

get used to using the pre-defined hotkeys
ie. shift + w/e/r
if not, make your own, but auto-key can become nasty.

Never use auto key, you don’t have the same control of your keys.
It's faster and you wont have any problem if you simply set a key were you want to start the rotate and go to the frame you want the animation to stop, set the rotation to 360 in the channelbox and set a new key.

use the S key to set a key.. easier to use than auto key.. ive been animating for a long time and never even used auto key.

get into the habit of setting keys with the S key on ur keyboard.
