I've been lookin for a headlight modelling tutorial for long. i cant find one.. I am amazed at the models others post in the forum.. Is it that the headlights are just textures or are they modelled :? ?

Here's a tutorial of how to do it in Rhino. I've only used Rhino so I'm not sure how diffrent it is from Maya. I know they're both NURBS so it should be similar give or take commands and things of that nature.

Maya

hye,

today only i know from my one friend that in making headlights in Maya using nurbs use the projector map first for which shape light you want to use means lines nurbs circle, squire etc. Select the surface where you want apply that shape and make projection first , ha don't forget to make rebuild the face where your want to make headlight and delete history before the projection of surface.

Then you get the projection shape on that surface where you want to the lights shape, then select that whole surface and select "Trim" tool from the edit surface tool and select the surface which you want over there, i.e. select area out of light shape and not inside light shape on the headlight surface. Ok, that's it press enter key. You will get the whole which shape you want to modified for the lights inside headlights, it may be back lights or front lights same method is applied for it.

Then select the area and where we use trim tool and by clicking wright mouse select " Trim Edge" , now duplicate it, and move it backward from original one and then select both edges and give "Loft" to build the surface of light and pack complete the light building using "Planner " tool. You can make your internal lights of headlights in this way, so try it. It's nice to share information with you all hopes you all also helps me to improve my work in Maya.

Hye, Thanking you for reading me, with great regards.
