As the first month of 2008 is slowly drawing to an end, I think it's safe to say that the many artists who've posted their work here have really kicked the year off great...

...This makes it absolute hell for me, 'cos I have to write something interesting enough to hold your attention away from these guys' works for 5 minutes. It ain't easy peoples!! But, that's the punishment for housing some of the best out there on this forum!! Artists of SMC, keep up the awesome work, and enjoy this Write-Up!!

GTA & The New Law...

Unfortunately, the first part of this week's Weekly Write-Up isn't something that I really want to talk about, however it has to be done. Some of you may have noticed a theft of a 3D car model in a particular thread this past week whom the 'creator' posted as their own work for a SMC contest, when in fact this was not the case at all. There are two things to come of this event...

Firstly, model theft itself is not cool. Apart from copyright infringements, and the whole legal jibba-jabba that entails it, model theft is a disgrace... Not only to the theif, but to the forum they fool because of it. I personally have zero-tolerance for this act. All you have to do is put yourself in the REAL creator's shoes to know how bad they'd feel if they came across someone claiming their models as their own. It's not on guys, not at all...

And secondly, the particular theft in question was not dealt with accordingly and professionally... I, on behalf of the rest of the SMC crew, would like to apologise to the rest of the community who may've witnessed this. This is why the higher-ups of SMC have chosen that in this coming week, the Rules and Guidelines of SMCars.net will be re-written. This will be a totally new breed of law that we will ask you kindly to adhere to when it is unveiled in next week's Write-Up. It will also introduce the new Ban system, and how it will work. The majority of you will never have to worry about this IF you simply use common-sense whilst browsing and posting.

Until this new law though, please, just play nice


Population, Increasing...

Most of you have noticed this, but our forum population of both new Users, and old ones that have re-surfaced, is rising considerbly. This is fantastic news. It means that SMC gains more content for people to browse, and a better home for artists who are simply striving for greatness by posting more WIPs for critiques by other fantastic artists. For the new-comers, SMC wishes you the best of luck with your works and understanding of the 3D world. For the oldies, you already know how much we appreciate you being here. Thanks
