Cool Weekly Write-Up - 16/06/2008

It's here everybody... The Psychedelic 60s Contest's Poll has CLOSED

Tonight is the crowning of the second batch of stone-cold Champions this year in what has been a very exciting Contest for SMCars.net.

So we'll quit this jibba-jabba and lets get down to crowning some genetically superior Winners!!

-------------------------

Grooovy Baby...

*presses 'Play' on Media Player, 'Incense & Peppermints' by Strawberry Alarm Clock starts playing* Ah-ha... just thought I'd set the mood for myself for this...

If you've been living in a tie-dye tent for the past 2-months, you may've not noticed the proceedings of SMC's 2nd Official Contest of 2008, the Psychedelic 60s.

A tremendous number of entrants found their way into the Contest's WIP section but only a groovy few made it to the end... Tonight, the top 3 competitors as voted by you will have their hard work pay off with either Bronze, Silver or Gold, by winning one of these...

This is the Gold Medal designed by our very own Niray, and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Winners will earn the right to bear theirs in either their Signature or Avatar.

Before we get to crowning the champions, I, on behalf of all of the Higher-Ups of SMC, would like to thank Niray for the incredible work he puts in here at SMCars.net. He's a credit to himself, and our beloved community.

So thanks Niray, and lets get down to handing these babies out!!

-------------------------

In 3rd place, with a not-so psychedelic but ever-so awesome military piece...

veve, with his 1960 Ferret Scout Car!!...

veve has done some amazing work here and has really shown off his exceptional creative talents with this truly awesome 1960s beast.

Congratulations veve for being awarded an Official SMCars.net Bronze Medal!!...

-------------------------

In an ever-so-sexy 2nd place, with an early American muscle classic...

Sebastian Appel N.P's 1965 Chevrolet Corvette!!...

It takes years of hard work to learn how to convey emotion and atmosphere in an inanimate object, and Sebastien has executed it perfectly with this very cool and slick rendering of his superb Corvette.

Congratulations Sebastian for earning your SMC Silver Medal!!...

-------------------------

...And now the big'n, the one handed down to Top Dog of this year's second Official SMCars.net Contest, and being crowned the awesomeness that is the Gold...

This User has shown incredible increases of his skills every time he starts a new project, and never ceases to amaze with what can be done with simple FreeWare 3D programs... He's well and truly earnt this Gold Medal, so *cues the 'Applaud' sign* lets give it up for...

tom120934, with his 1963 Marcos 1800 GT!!...

Tom, on behalf of all of SMCars.net, I'd like to congratulate you on taking out SMCars.net's second ever Gold Medal!! You've really done yourself proud with this awesome piece of creative art, and it's my pleasure to be awarding you the First prize for The Psychedelic 60s Contest!!

-------------------------

So give it up for our Winners here tonight guys!! They've all worked extremely hard to get their skills to where they're at today, and with the above images, am I wrong...??

Congratulations to all who entered and made it through to the end!!

-------------------------

That's it for a pretty ground-breaking Write-Up... Next week's will contain a lil' unveiling of a certain somethin' that we've been cooking up here at SMCars.net. Stayed tuned, but for now, lets congratulate our Winners, baby!!

veve, your Ferret Scout car was perfect for this Contest... I don't think it was you that misunderstood the Contest, but others. It was ANY vehicle from the 1960s era... 'Psychedelic' was just a fancy word we threw in there for the contest name

Once again, you've shown off your amazing talents and it has bought you another win...

Anyways mate, congratulations Wear that Medal with pride!!

Congratulations to everyone who entered or made this contest happened ! Especially Niray for the time he put in these awards.

I'm proud of this result, not because I think I did the best entry (otherwise I would have voted for myself, no bull**** with fair-play ) but because I've learned so much from the SMC community in about 3 years of membership.

I would like to say again what I've said in the voting thread : congratulations to the 6 members who submitted their entry, because overall skills are impressive. With regards to this point, it's to me the best contest ever, from almost any CG board.

Long live to SMC !

Tom, SMC's very proud of not only the incredible amount of time you put into SMC itself, but the endless support and help to others which you offer, and in turn, has come back to you to build such an impressive piece of work. Proud to have you here champ

Make that Medal in the centre of your Signature dammit!! That baby's the centerpiece

Well done Tom, very much deserved and thanks again for the help ypu gave me.

Ok , for myself it's last place. But that's ok , no shame being behind these fine models. I'll just have to try harder next time.
Thanks to SM Cars ,let's have another contest soon please.

funkadellic indeed my friends. Was a groovy contest for sure. I totally felt the vibe from the aura of the top dogs, y'hear?

It's a bit of a downer that I hadn't found the time to join this little scrimmage... But that's okay, I'll soak myself up some of the next contest's Aura for sure! Until then, congrats to you contestants, and I'll see you on the flip side!

(and in non-60's lingo? Congrats to all! Great contest! Too bad I couldn't join, didn't have the time... But I'll pull myself together and turn up the heat in the next contest, rest assured! XD)
