Impressive designing skills

Yes RWR is not only a design contest, you'll need all of your skills : design, modeling, lighting, scene, composition, rendering... But first of all is design. And when talking about design, here's my favorite for this WWU : Orik and his TripleS Pandemonium.

Took a look at this really beautiful mix of Group C style, McLaren F1, Pagani Zonda. Yes there is less significant inspirations in racing history !

Huge picture donation

Every single reader of SMC remembers the insanely detailed 1969 Camaro by Tom Sullivan. Most of current SMC members are already addicted to his 1965 Shelby Daytona. Some of his fans (count me in) remember he started another project between these 2 : a 1996 Dodge Viper.

And this week, all of us have been blessed by his grace (sorry for blasphemy, you reader of faith) : Tom uploaded most of his reference pictures for this modern pony car ! We're talking about 400 pictures here, each about 1600x1200. That is, about 750 millions of pixels of this legendary US venom !

SMC is being infested by frenchies ! predator06, from the french board 3D Autos, noticed me there's more than our RWR contest being held this summer. Let him explain us :

Hi, 3D autos forum introduce you the 3D constest that we organize for summer 2009: "The glorious french cars", the very famous french cars from the history.

This contest is open for all modeler, the skill level doesn't matter.
We hope that you wiil be many to participate, it's the opportunity to show you and receive impressions, opinions, critics but also help the other modeler and all this in a joyful atmosphere.

A classement will be realize at the end thanks to a vote.

Beyond CG ? Yes we have too We're lucky enough this week to see many updates from 2 great projects : physical dioramas by JohnReid, and carving of a Mini from a wood block, by solidmodeler.

midoo55, those are 2 different contests, so you have to decide which one you want to enter, or to choose a car with which you can enter both.

If your choice is a Mini, then it looks like you can't enter the 3DAutos contest, because the theme is french cars. So we'll be pleased to welcome your in the RWR section.

Perhaps I'm very stupid, but I can't find the description of the contest anymore. Basically I'm interested to know what the deadline was. I had this feeling the deadline was the end of July, but it seems the wip entries continue to appear, so it seems the deadline is not over, thus I might still manage to finish the model I've started...
