I think the Canon PowerShot A75 3.2MP, 3xOPT, 3.2
G, 1.8"LCD, CFI Digital Camera would be your best bet... but with these sorts of digital cameras, remember, that you're actually going to have to size your images down before they'll look good onscreen. I find that you have to decrease it to about 66.67% of its original size... The reason being that the images don't quite look clear, and can have a bit of noise in them... noise is just uneven coloration... like speckles...anyway, I'd say the canon powershot a75 because it mentions having manual control, which can really help your pictures turn out properly, if you know how to use it... at least, I'm assuming that it's talking about manual control over the focus of the camera... it also seems to have more sophisticated features... but that's just me... ![]()

I own Canon PowerShot A70, 128mb memory.
I like it. Though the best cams are slr cams, however the price starts from 1000$. Cams like Nikon EOS-1Ds cost around 7000$. I dont think u have money for that, so choose from these 2 brands, canon or nikon. But before u buy somethin check this site, its the best site for cam's reviews: http://www.steves-digicams.com/ Good luck. |

What about Pentax? Or Kodak even? Don't leave them out of consideration. They're not too shabby, and in the sub $200 range you're not going to see that much in the way of premium quality (or availability of models) from the so-called "better" brands.
Also what determines the best is how it's going to be used. In some situations a disposable camera might outperform a studio camera simply because you can grab it and shoot it w/o thinking about it. When it comes to digitals, I recommend trying them out. It's not just image quality or resolution (although it's still a big factor), but ease of use and features come into play. If you can't set it up in the desired mode in less than a minute, you'll probably end up with lots of lost photo opportunities. If you find a camera too limiting it's not good either. Likewise, if it's over-featured you're just wasting your money (not likely in the lower price bracket, but still something to consider.) And then there's the refresh rate, which can be an issue with some digital models. Sure, I could vouch for my Optio 33LF, but it doesn't mean it's best for you. I'd suggest going to the stores and playing with the cameras (if they let you). That way you can get a feel of what's likely to work best for you. |
