Frustratingly stuck
This is more of a "can someone please bail me out" thing, everytime i was to do a half decent looking clay render i have to use the default scanline renderer, can anyone clue me in on a way of getting "pukka" looking clay renders in vRay,its really starting to annoy me as i need the little "render time " bar at the botom, any help would be appreciated

Re: Frustratingly stuck
The way i do it is make a plane under the car with the default (aka clay) material and put a plane shaped vray light on top of it. Turn the light strenght down to 1 and turn on no decay and smooth shadows. That should create a half decent clay render with shadows and all. Personally i turn on GI too under the render settings with only one bounce at medium settings just to make it look a bit cleaner but for a very quick clay it's not really needed at all.

Help is on the way.
Quote:
Polycount is 220 000 and the rendertime is somewhere around 3,5 minutes which is not a lot since my comp sucks. At this point if anyone has suggestions to make it even better/faster feel free to help out.I've looked around for a decent clay setting and sofar i am the most satisfied with this one. I'll also post a render using the same settings and the same scene in the first pic. ![]() Oliver |
