Re: Anti-Virus help

i dont use antivirus.... slows down comp and i reformat regularly.

but make sure you have things to block spyware and quick scripts and trojan registry keys. (SPSD is amazing. use teatimer if you styill use ie.)

but what i do use sometimes if something wierd is up on the computer, i run avg free av, only had 1 virus ever found and a couple minor things.

Avast doesn't slow computer at all only then when it installs new virusdatabase but it doesn't do it all the time. You should have atleast something on your comp.

Re: Anti-Virus help

1. panda platinum 2005 internet security (for viruses, firewall etc..)
2. spybot - search & destroy (for standard blockings, like unwanted reg entries/changes etc)
3. regcleaner (for startup control)
4. hijackthis (for seeing the *.dlls that the running programs use, important if you have to manually eliminate a virus/trojan/hijacker that controls more than one program at a time or if it controls itself by using two virus programs that control each other, and if one gets deleted the other program re-writes/re-builds the deleted one (i had this case once and i had to eliminate it by my own, i needed about 7 hours to eliminate it completely, i had no antivirus installed at this time if i remember right, today i think a antivirus like panda should do the job before the virus can do anything))

virus free greetings
