Well then I'd like to ask for the people that don't wanna participate, why? whats holding you back? please let me know, maybe I can change some things so it is more appealing to you guys

ok just done a nearly perfect lap... and went under 1:50 with the Toyota Supra RZ '97

settings:
tyres: Sport - soft (F&B)
driving aids: None
power: 299hp

result:
1:49.461 ! ! !

it was so fun driving this car without TCS and ASM especially the technical part of this course, with the couple of 90° turns after eachother. I drifted trough each corner there struggling to aviod spinning. Really had to work with the pressure sentive butons there.

Rules of RACE 1 are on the first page somewhere... but because I'm so happy that this thread has a little life in it again, I'll post them again.

track: New York
-> laps: 1 lap time trail in ARCADE
-> normal heading
car:
-> HP < 300hp (= 295bhp = 220kW ; I don't think there are any other units for power in GT4, am I right?)
-> Drivetrain: FR - FF
-> STOCK
-> Transmision: free (manual or automatic)
-> Driving Aids: free (TCS & ASM)
-> Tyres: Sport-hard, sport-medium, sport-soft
-> Tuning: allowed aslong as above mentioned restrictions aren't crossed

so to answer your question:
car under 300hp = fine
you can drive with or without ASM and/or TCS
you can do as many laps as you want in timetrail, but only the fastest will count ofcourse

soo, after testing between mazda rx7 bathurst, supra rz and nissan 350z i was fastest with supra rz

i run without tcs and asm
i reduce the cars hp from 315 to 299 - there is quick settings where you can also find replay, settings, quit
i equiped sport soft tires

yeah had the same HP problem with that car, don't know why tough...
