GT4 SMC championship

ok been thinking about this and I got my idea kinda worked out. I'm planning on holding a GT4 championship here on SMCars.

The rules are fairly simpel:
- a number of races will be held on certain tracks, you all get 4 weeks time to hand in your best time. (there are also races with more then one lap, here the total time counts)
- the races will be done in actual races ingame (for example the DTM races) and in arcade, for each race you can choose between a number of fairly equal cars. At the end of the season there will be one last race with whatever car you choose.
- when you hand in your best time, you do this by taking a photo of the race results after the race, this way I can verify that you didn't cheat.
- the winner of each race will get a certain number of points, these points will be added to their championship total
-at the end off all the races the person with the most points wins the championship and earns the titel as best GT4-er of SMCar
PLEASE do not cheat, it will be very obvious when your time is way below the others their time, just play fair (I've seen these championships before and often the best time are only hunderds of seconds apart)

these are the basic rules, the only thing that still might use some tweaking is the point system. Right now I'm thinking about this:
1st - 10pts
2nd - 8pts
3rd - 6pts
4th - 4pts
5th - 2pts

now this could still change depening on how many people are gonna play along.

The tracks are almost set. I'm trying to get a good mix between circuits - city - off-road

1. New York
2. Apricot Hill
3. Grand Canyon
4. Cote D'Azur (Monaco)
5. De La Sarthe (Le Mans)
6. Chamonix
7. Citta Di Aria
8. Nurburgring

these are the tracks and their sequence, if all goes well then our racing season will last 8 month/championship.

Okay for the contenders, please post here if you want to be in on this race. Once the season starts there can not be new contenders.
I myself will also join so to make everything fair I'd like to ask one of the mods or admins to be the judges.

you hsouldnt have the option of changing cars, becuase thats what makes championships in the game challenging is, the decision of what car you are going to race. and you should make it 4 laps, 1 warm up and 3 real to get your best time.

I put in that limit on cars because else all the hard-core GT-ers (like me) will always use the Formula Car to race, which is by far the best car in the game. I want to give newer players also a chance to compete. I'll try to make the selection as big as possible but still limited to "normal" cars.

As for the laps, every race will be different, your tyres will almost be worn out on Nurburg when you finished you warm up. The final decision about lapnumbers is still to be made, some circuits will only have one lap other might have 10 (I'm even thinking about trowing in an endurance) ... either way I'll try to keep it as fair as possible but still challenging...

tracks are listed already in the first post... once we get a couple of people (6-7) we will start our little mini season. You can ofcourse start practising already with some cars in New York... Cars still need to be figured out, have to take in account that european version differs from the Japanese and American one.

I might be in, got plenty of time so why not

Okay I will make up a list of the default cars in the European game.
from that we could prbably whitle it down.

lol I have the European game, I just had to make sure that the cars in my game were the same as other versions here... but I found a way around this.

RACE 1

Okay here are the FINAL specs for the first SMC championship race:

track: New York
-> laps: 1 lap time trail in ARCADE
-> normal heading
car:
-> HP < 300hp (= 295bhp = 220kW ; I don't think there are any other units for power in GT4, am I right?)
-> Drivetrain: FR - FF
-> STOCK
-> Transmision: free (manual or automatic)
-> Driving Aids: free (TCS & ASM)
-> Tyres: Sport-hard, sport-medium, sport-soft
-> Tuning: allowed aslong as above mentioned restrictions aren't crossed

To qualify you need to send a photographe of the menu screen (were you can select A-spec, B-spec, replay, ...) with your best time and car.
In 4 weeks we will announce the winner... you can place your entry till saterday the 2nd of June 12:00pm GMT. Expect the results sunday, same time.

ps: I'm still looking for a mod/admin or trustworthy person to make sure everything goes by the book. I could do it aswell, but considering that I'm also participating in this I think it wouldn't be exactly fair and it would definitly start discusions.

Also as for the circuits, if you are just begining with GT4 you won't have access to all the tracks so I have a new list
