What's your favourite Grand Theft Auto?

My favourite was Grand Theft Auto Vice City (I've nearly finished it).

gta 3, by a long shot.

it's not that i actually dislike the other parts, but somewhat is missing. i can't
put my finger on it... sure i do love the ever growing world you can explore
in the later parts, but still. with sa i definitely don't dig the ghetto thingy, it
was fun for a bit but soon got pretty boring.
vc and sa are like the cities/islands you could get to in the later stages of
gta 3. it felt different from the original city, somewhat made a little more
hasty or whatnot, not as refined.

maybe that's also why i didn't really get into modding vc and sa whereas
my gta 3 was heavily modified with all the nice highdetail blingbling oldskool
muscle cars, etc...

hmm i can't quite decide whether VC or Sa is better. SA seems better since it can handle more modifications and well i really modded it heavily (like 50 or so car replacements). but on the other hand the ghetto thing as described by skb^sp isn't really my deal. the talk is funny 'for sure' but it's kinda lame.

VC has a sort of unique quality and flair. all those colors and the style really suited the setting of the game. it had a very nice flair.

but all in all the GTA series are the games that i have probably enjoyed the most when playing. the freedom in the game, the characters and the dialogues alltogether are things that make this series what it is. the games were just really the coolest gaming experience i have had till now

a great plus for the series is that it has evolved constantly, regarding the gameplay.

well my vote therefore goes to VC

while I dislike the ghetto gangster lifestyle... I do think it fits into the game fairly well. I also like how it's so easy to blend into different lifestyles. There's the Los Santos CJ, the San Fierro CJ, the Las Venturas CJ, the country CJ, the mobster CJ, the corrupt cop CJ...

I think there's just way too much content in san andreas for it not to be my favorite game. It's certainly provided the most replay value, that's for sure.

The only thing I hate about the game is the "One-time use things" ... like flowers, night-vision goggles, and possibly a couple other things... If you're going to make an item never appear again after picking it up, make sure it's not something that has a use behind it. I sorely miss my night-vision and thermal goggles

Well, I own the console version, but I noticed the goggles not spawning anymore on the PC version. It's just annoying that there's something you cannot do anymore that you should be able to. The effects were interesting to see at that..

Plus, not sure if this is true or not, but supposedly you might be able to see weird things with the thermal goggles or night vision goggles, but again, not sure if that's true or not

the turf wars where my highlight of SA but vice city hands down.

but gta 2 was the best. the random comments as you drive down the road. pick pockets, car thefts.

Only played VC and SA, did not like SA one bit. I want a game not a simulator.

Nut still prefer the original GTA the best

well SA was the sort of action aventure and shooter, with a couple of roleplay elements, like having to eat, doing workout ect. i thought that was something cool, a sresh breeze in the monotonuos life of Carl Johnson
