Who's Got a PS3

who here has got a PS3. i got one on the first day it came out in the UK.

What You think of it?

Please state which one you have, (american version or european one) and follow the structure of Good/Bad points then overall conclusion and additional notes plaese to make it easy to read.
PLEASE nothing about any other consoles just PS3

I have the european one as i said before

Bad Points:
It needs to have much more in the playstation store, something to rival that os xbox marketplace and also it needs more compatibility for videos, like Divx for example. some other few things are missing as well

Good Points:
It has good things bout it too like internet browser, the multimedia features, quality of build and quietness of fans etc.

Overall Impressions:
PS3 is great, it is well built and has lots of potential that is not being used yet.

Additional Stuff:
The other thing is that i do not like the way us europeans are loosing out. we in the UK paid £425. thats the equivilent of roughly $950 !!!!!! AND then all of our content is DELAYED compared to the USA. like our PS store is bare and empty. we dont have a ninja gaiden demo ore calling all cars. Its soo frustrating
Plus we lost out again when we did not get an Emotion chip to play PS2 games properly.

Hey man, I own a 360, but my mate owns a PS3, and this goes for both consoles...

You can make another online account for a different region on your console, and take advantage of other region's Marketplaces. Simply make a new email, and select the appropriate region you're after. I'd suggest the US region, and the Japanese region.

you might also point out that the PS3 is a rather cheap Blue Ray player , prices of blue ray players in germany are atm between 1200-469 euros. of course quality differs, but you know what you get when you choose the PS3.

also from what i have seen, the PS3 is moddable, like the HDD can be exchanged for a bigger one (!) if there is need to such a thing. from what i have heard this is not possible (or easily done) with the Xbox360

@ Dr. Feelgood - Thanks, i have made a USA account, and i can tell you it is much much better than ours.

@ rapheal9 - i plan on getting a 360 as well, but i am going to wait for halo3 to come out with it as one package.

@Silent][Moebius - you have got very good points there i missed out. the hard disk thing is true as it says so on the side of the ps3. all you need to do is take a small cover off and slide out the caddy with the HDD in it. then you can put a larger HDD, eg 120GB in to it, but it has to be a 2.5" one at 5400RPM i think. Like a laptop one.
O ye, blue ray looks great, but i can only see it on SD resolution, but even on that it looks cleaner than DVD

I feel less frustrated now and I also have bought a new HD samsung LE32R88BD LCD tv for my PS3, but i am waiting for it to be delivered. can't wait! seems like not too many people have the PS3 at the mo at this site, looks like i guessed wrongly. more poeple have the 360 which is an excellent console as well. can't wait toll halo comes out.

about the PS3, i just played some racing game in some store on it, and WOW, i was impressed, the quality of the models and the damage and the dirt, EVERYTHING was completely taken to the next level.

That one was callled motorstorm,but has anyone ever played colin mcrae dirt demo? graphics are much better imo.shame about the game handling lol

DiRT is actually coming out on the PS3 as well as the 360...I'd prefer MotorStorm over it, but it's the next best thing for a 360 owner *cries*

The Ps3 looks very nice, i agree, but i have bought a vinyl for it to protect it. i bought it from Decalgirl.com i'll get a pic of it soon as i get my camera back.

gamespot offer the pc demo, i wanted to know if you could get the PS3 demo, because that is what i assumed the demo was on when Catlin mentioned it.

Ha, LOL, it looks like it doesn't it. but actaully it is well on the table. the actual bits that touch the table are well in from the sides. the edge of the PS£ overhangs them, you can see it in the pic i attached.
it doesn't get moved much. its going near my new tv soon anyway

I all honesty, even though I love my 360, and would never really buy a PS3 ('cept for Motorstorm ;-), I think the PS3 console looks better than the 360 console...'cept I'd want it in white :-D

motorstorm is alright, but i think better games will come out soon. i want something like forza 2 out on ps3. maybe Gran tourismo5 will be good. if they ever speed it up, imo the others were abit slow.

ps3 had to be the biggest fad flop ever. a week before christmas they would sell for 2 grand and up, then the day they come out everyone is like oh man this thing is kinda lame and doesnt want them. nintendo wins again!
