Judging from these screens, I personally think Crysis has better texture resolution than real-life ;-) EB Games Australia I also highly recommend watching the Crysis Level Editor Demonstrations (2 parts) that can be found here: GameTrailers.com - Crysis (PC) - Media, News, Reviews, Previews... Very sexy stuff if you're in to your graphics and level-editing. ![]() ------------------------- Current Project: Pondering... ------------------------- Wheels: 1977 Ford Fairlane ZH ------------------------- System/s: PC, Xbox 360 (XBL GT: DrFe3lgo0d), PlayStation Portable -------------------------

I think the main thing that lets their terrain down, as with most games, is that it's too smooth...even the mountains. The real-life photo shows sharp edges, whereas Crysis has tried doing that, yet it still seems smooth.

But the poly count is massive, its DX10 which can handle stuff alot easier than DX9 cause it communicates directly to the GPU on the graphics card, not through Vista. Like the terrain you see in the backround of crysis, is real terrain that u can walk to and walk on, not just a texture. I have a 8800 GTS graphics card which is a DX10 card and i cant wait to try it out on DX10.. lol the card is more powerfull than my old computer even tho my old one is still decent.
EDIT: dont know why EB games says its a XBOX360 game... Its for PC, havent checked if it was for XBOX360 aswel but i highly doubt it because 360's run differently to DX10 and so the programming would have to change and therefore not allow u to have the features that are in Crysis EDIT: yeh they were originally making it for XBOX but then swapped over to PC for DIRECTX10 support, i dont know whether they will realse it on XBOX360 just without the DX10 stuff or if they can somehow put DX10 on XBOX360.. Will Crysis Come to Xbox 360? - Xbox 360 is not upgradeable to DirectX 10 - Softpedia ![]() "A closed mouth gathers no foot..." (\_,/) (O.o) This is Bunny. Definitely one of my most anticipated games. The fact that there is destructable terrain and a minigun reminds me of that scene in Predator where they are just unloading their guns at the jungle trying to kill the Predator. That's something that I've been dying to do in a game for a loooong time.
@ marty-bett - Not having DX10 is one reason, but I think it is also because of ram. In the 360, there is only 512MB of ram total. I wouldn't be surprised if Crysis required a PC with at least 512MB of system ram and maybe a 128 or 256MB video card. But to get things on high with a decent frame rate, it may require at least twice that. I'm sure they could optimize things for a console, but that may still require losing visual quality. That doesn't seem to be something they are willing to do, so I don't expect a port to the 360. |

I just love the fact that most people are gonna be stupid enough to upgrade almost their entire system just to play it...
...and yes, I am one of those people :-D One of our main systems at work is about to be running on Vista...It's got dual 8800GTX, quad-core CPU, and 4-gig of RAM, and all this is hooked up to dual Dell 24" widescreen monitors...Guess where I'll be playing my copy of Crysis until I upgrade my computer?? ;-P ![]() ------------------------- Current Project: Pondering... ------------------------- Wheels: 1977 Ford Fairlane ZH ------------------------- System/s: PC, Xbox 360 (XBL GT: DrFe3lgo0d), PlayStation Portable -------------------------

They're a few days old now, but the Developer Walkthroughs from E3 are available in 3 parts on Gametrailers.com... The link's as follows:
Gametrailers.com - Crysis: Reviews, Trailers, and Interviews These are fantastic, and really show off the smaller details of the game. If you've got the time, and more importantly the bandwidth, I highly recommend watching them. ![]() ------------------------- Current Project: Pondering... ------------------------- Wheels: 1977 Ford Fairlane ZH ------------------------- System/s: PC, Xbox 360 (XBL GT: DrFe3lgo0d), PlayStation Portable -------------------------

i have been loooking at this game for a long time now. it does look awesome.
i like the way that the gun and suit can be customized so you can kick ass multiple ways. hopefully i will be able to run it on my computer when it comes out, maybe on the lower settings. I think they were discussing how it might come out on PS3 and Xbox360 later on.... ![]() |

Well, it looks like you Aussies will be gettin it a day early, As well as Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
/Shakes fist Well, considering you guys seem to get a lot of stuff later, you guys deserve to get something early **Edit** lol given the differences in time zones, I guess it would be the same day as those of us in the Western Hemisphere. Although, Quake Wars will be a couple days early /End Edit Also, here's the box art ![]() ![]() WIPs: KTM X-Bow Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversario (preview video)(gameplay video) Lamborghini Murciélago and LP640 (on hold) Lamborghini Gallardo Sypder (on hold) Last edited by Masakari987 : 08-07-2007 at 10:43 PM. |

it may not matter when it comes out as some of our computers will explode just trying to play this game
. judging by the graphics, i rekon a 6800GT may just be able to crack it, but to get the best you need a 8800GTS or GTX.Processor wise a dual core, i just got the E6750. that may be alright. |

Although, I don't think the system specs needed to just play the game will be as bad as Stranglehold. Apparently a moderator on their fourms said that it will REQUIRE Quote:

hmmmmmm...if that Stranglehold game is an indication of the specs UT3 is going to need, i dont think its going to do as well as the previous versions...
