Deskop problem..

since its an Offtopic discusion forum i hope i can post this here..


I have a big problem with my deskop and i have really completly no idea how to fix that!

there is 2 problem:
1- the orange circle on the pic: this big white stripe appeared while i was trying to change my deskop image... and now i have no idea how to disable it!

2-The red circle:those small icon change of image.. Exemple:you can see teh Hitman icon, but in reality, this button open oulook...
and you can see on teh otehr pic that teh real icon for thisbutton is really teh outlook icon..

i use windows XP proffessionnal

i hope you guys can help me, this big white stripe S*"#| @!!

Deskop problem..

Well I know how to get rid off the white strip in a folder. You just go to Tools>Options, then its the first bit on the general tab, where it says,

Tasks
Show common tasks in folders
Use Windows classic folders

and you choose the 'Use Windows classic folders' to hide the white strip thing.

Never seen it appear on the desktop though. Do you use any third party programs to customise your windows settings like TweakUI?

Deskop problem..

That icon showing all wrong, is just temporary.. Had that the day before yesterday too with some files. But yesterday they were OK again..

wormheart: yea i looked here thousand of time unfortunatly

Jammy: i know too how to get rid of it in a folder but it doesnt work for teh deskop, and mmm well i dont really know if i use any third part programm but i think that no

wow!! thank you wormheart!! the white stripe disappeared now!

and about the small icon, now everything is ok too.I scanned my hard drives with McAfee and i found 5 trojan and 1 virus hehe i think that was teh problem lol
