Rescued vehicle back on the road ...
Hey all,
Been a long while since posting here and because this " Photography Discussion " forum is a bit sleeping these days, I thought I' d post some pictures of one of my vehicles As mentioned in "Rescued Vehicle" about 1,5 years ago, one of those rescued machines was a motorcycle. An ex- British army 1967 350cc BSA B40 to be precise, that came to me in a pretty sorry state. The bike was owned by a friend of mine who phoned me - about 23 years ago - to have a look at a motorcycle he got, because it was not a runner. One hour later, I got it working and had a ride around the block, but it wasn' t running smoothly. When the owner took over, the engine stalled and refused to start again, due to a very mixed up wiring. I advised him to dismantle the bike completely and restore it, because there was too much wrong with it. And that' s exactly what he did: taking it apart and put it in a damp shed for 20 years ... Anyway, in the summer of 2005 ( sounds like a song ) he phoned me once more and asked me if I remembered that little BSA he owned.Of course I did and next thing he said was : " If you come to collect it within 15 minutes it' s yours, otherwise I' ll bring it to the scrap ! " Needless to say I was there within 15 minutes ... Now almost 2 years and a lot of headaches later, the bike is finally finished. This morning I went to collect a new license plate and took the little BSA for a spin - the first one it had in 23 years and funny enough, the same guy at the handlebars ... The "before"- pictures are taken the day the bike arrived at my home. As you can see, it needed a bit of tidying up ... Hope you like it, Peter |

Thanks Catlin,
The car is still waiting ... Due to the terrible state of the bike - there wasn' t a single item that didn' t need attention - and too much other work, I didn' t have time to get to the car. I hope to start working on it soon though... Peter |
