Ferrari 620 Imola Concept (More renders)
I have been around here for a while and haven't shown much so i decided to show you my latest project, a proposal for the forthcoming 575M replacement.
This has been a fairly long project for me, about two and a half weeks and i am quite happy with the result. It might not be as good as, my good friend, W.O.H's cars but i am proud of it. Sorry but no green Ferrari for the moment. ops: Hope to here what you guys think.I also have an animation coming but i need to render the last 20 frames tonight. ![]() ![]() Yellow and Blue make Green!!<br />

Great work, and interesting concept.
It seems too far removed from the 575 to be its replacement though. I dislike the rear. It's too flat, and square for my likings. Looking forward to that animation ![]() |

It looks nice but im afraid you forgot the technical stuff... Like the "air-intake" at the side and wheel... it has no function so whatever... An air-intake is made for cooling the engine. Same point about the back of the car. There is no open spaces for the engine to cool down. Now you can say its a tec car which dont need those holes.. but a real ferrari has holes. It makes it a ferrari. To hear and smell and see the engine. Beast! SAme thing with the function of a back window... This driver cannot look at the back... 'backtraffic'. Maybe acamera, but that aint ferrari style. Another thing is why the window is so big. It looks ugly to me. No ferrari style. It must be all with eachother. Not things that spring out of the car... ferrari is his own nice total pic not things which are different to the style..
hope you get me. thanks for reading. good luck |

Great to hear everyones opinions.
Please vote. lackadaisical: I think so to but as a student we have to make these far fetched cars and call them tommorows cars. The rear of the car is a study of proportions and surfaces. Trying to herald the Kamm Tail in a modern approch. I chose to do Ferrari because it has a certain myth about it, and of course everyone has an opinion on the subject of what a ferrari is. This make it probably the most difficult brand to work on. I have enjoyed the challenge. Sno believe me what you just said is utter crap. You have no knowledge of the technical matters or of Ferrari style. Vents behind the wheel are for cooling the brakes. A notable feature on the Enzo. The 612 Scag has no engine cooling. Holes make a Ferrari, yeah maybe in your world. No wonder kids today a sticking gills, and **** on their civics and thinking it is a Ferrari.  Rear window is enough to look out of. Ever sat in a Ferrari let alone drove one . If you have you would know what a pain in the ass it is to look out the back. The problem could have been solved by making the window larger, but this would have been the easy way. I chose the more stylistic way of solving the problem, by adding a second window which mimicks the shape of the grill on the back of the Enzo. Second this is a concept. Third a proposal is just not a production car. In the real world it takes 4 years to make a car. It that time it turns form concept into production. Crash Course in Design For Sno. Designers job is to try and create a smooth, flowing, voluptuous body shape. Enginners job is to try and make the work as best it can. This envolves making hole, grills, gills, etc... True italian cars have the finest, most beautiful bodies in the world, but they are highly prone to overheating, and other relieability issuses. Don't take this too harshly i just had a bad day. ![]() Yellow and Blue make Green!!<br />

i think it takes a designer to recognize another
i gotta agree on everything you said... most of the points are good, just some lines thats bothers me, as they "break" the flow of the car... the first one is the sidewindows sahpe, next to end of the windshield... they are rather angles, it would be ok, considering the overall car shape, but they doesn't seem good enough... have you ever tried other styles? like making something that goes fully till the end of the car? maybe that would work out. The other one is the angle you used on the top part of the rear window, which compared to the angle on the end of windshield at the top of it makes its look uneven, since the endo of the windshild is rounded and the one on the rear window is squared....other than that i think the car is great... btw are you considereing the cabrio version? |

Yeah i really do agree about the sahpe of the side window. It isn't very good. I tried making windows larger, but made the car look "fat". I think
i should have just made it a bit bigger and smoother. The rear window is a bit akward looking as well. I don't think there will be a cabrio version, sorry. ops: Here is the animation. ![]() Yellow and Blue make Green!!<br />
