image number 2, because the purple/blue background supports the color of the car body
something like this:
baby pink <-> white/grey
baby blue <-> white
devil red <-> black
black <-> white
yellow <-> green
yellow <-> grey/brown
orange-red/orange <-> dark grey/white-black
green <-> white
blue <-> white
red <-> white/grey/black
green-blue <-> light brown
white <-> grey/beige
etc
it has something to do with the colors that fit to each other, room designers are using it too for room concepts / interior designs
you also can look at the nature and look how basic things/colors work together, or read a study about "corporate design/image/identity", example: ferrari uses red color for its cars, why? because human people connect the red color unknowingly with blood, fire, heat, power and so on, so when they see the car they get a certain feeling, that was aimed/wanted by the car manufacturer (also now after the success of ferrari, people connect the red color automatically with ferrari, and this again supports ferrari and its corporate image/identity), red is a "warm" color, blue color is a "cold" color, and so on and so on.. so if you know what you want for a feeling when people look at it you should use this, also you should know that there are different kinds of seeing things, it is called "kultursehen" (culture seeing or culture perception) in german language, which means that people in different cultures see things in a different way, so some of the colors work different in other cultures, for example if you use a certain color in europe it can be that this color produces a wrong feeling in a different culture, so if you do things like this you have to know which market / which culture is your aim that will see this image or product or whatever.. it's an important thing that designers use worldwide
