Nah it must be his PC. I can render a model with brazil skylight, raytrace and a raytraced floor, and with higher polycount than that in around 15 mins. /methinks you need to upgrade T-shine

Anyways, it's because of the settings..
I'm using LightWave (donno, LW might be slower than Max+Brazil)
I've used radiosity, and the shadow is at max. smoothness..
+ I've got reflection on almost every part of the car, which takes more time to render aswell.

@Civic-Dude: I haven't touched the materials too much... Do you mean the body or the rims?

but really kinda long time, I do the same Render with LW + Skytracer and it only take about 5 minutes
