First render post of tire...and a hello....

I guess I should explain something. Cars are not something I can model. At least not yet. I normally play around with Poser, or modeling architecture (I basically started in computer graphics with AutoCAD). Buildings, stereos, and things of this like I can do. If you go to the store and see a little sign hanging from the shelves for coupons. I had designed those for one particular chain. I am tired of playing sort to speak, I want some excellent cars in my gallery! So I joined here to see what others are doing, and maybe get a little help in learning how to do it myself. I started over at Onno Van Braam's website and this is the tire tutorial he has there.

Hope to contribute more as I learn.

It's nice ...

I tried the same tutorial, but the bump mapping didn't seem to work.
It was totaly wrong...

Yes it isn't quite a tileable bump map for the tread. If you look at the tread in this image just before the P you'll see a tread that's double the size of the other treads.
