you need same details on the tyres as on the rest of the model.
Also the renders aren't that much impressive but it can be worked out !

thanks for you comments. When you say details on the tyres do you mean the highlight so the side of tire and the tred is more visible or the text that goes on the side of the tyre? you mentioned the renders are not impressive could you maybe suggest a way i can improve them? agnle, lighting, post work?

So it is finished? You have now a WIP and a Finished Showacase work

What are you aiming at? I guess the best would be for you to check out some old cars in a studio to see where to pay attention. Wheels are not nice right now, reflections and highlights could be better. For advertiseing purposes this is ofc not enough. The outdoor render lacks as so often or usual on contrast. Shadaows are not dark or deep enough to believe, so is the car in wrong gamma. If you rendered the car seprately , then you should match the gamma in order integrate the image into the backpalte. But overall this is great piece of work, you paid a lot attention on the old camera feel in post.

    Ps.: I merged the threads

thanks again for your kind words I will re-render the studio lighting as i want to use this a showreel piece for my showreel which i am looking to redo but time at the moment is tight so im not sure if i can get around to doing it now. i agree with you about the tyres. in regards to the outdoor rendering that is my first crack at doing a photo comp so i need plenty more practice so thanks for the advice i will definitely take that on board. i got a quick question about the tyres. the text on the side of the tyres, is it better to do as a bump map or actual geometry?

Bump is not as precise as the Height map/Displacement map. The best way is to model it, but you can get awesome results with displace aswell.

@exidge yeah i thought that's the better way, i usually model it its just that i saw some people do it with maps but i guess thats just to save polys.

Hello Pavlo, I know you from 3DHit we use to study in the same uni, hey what's going on man, nice pictures. But I think all of them except one - the close up with lots of depth of field - are missing depth - by all means, I want to say that not only the DOF is not enough but everithing that can accentuate it is not ballanced right. So my advise to you is to try to get your car in some different background setups which will make the model pop up better, and try to use cameras with lot less perspective distortion as well this can be very helpfull when the model is not a character but a vehicle . Maybe you have to pay more attention of the compositing and retaching your renders in Photoshop. Good luck

Oh hey dude how you doing? good to see you on here. You probably get a bit more help here with the automotive work then on 3d hit. hope you are ok. In regards to the debth of field i found that you have to be careful with it unless its a close up other wise it will make your model look like a minuature model of a car not an actual size car. I do agree about frying it in different environment. When i got more time i might do that. As for comping i comp in fusion but for stills i think i might start using photoshop. i could get closer on the model to show more detail so i might do a bit more of that. I like your work on acura. How is that going?

I mentioned depth of field just as an example but my point was not the DOF itself but actually the space behind the car. Which depending of the way it looks like may help or ruin the overal composition by flattening it out or narrowing it down. And about the compositing and retouching of the renders in whichever program is done it is not enough just to lay down AO, reflection, refraction, specular and so on but to make sure after it's done that it is balanced and color corrected in a way that makes it an artwork. Or at least this is what we have to aim to. I know that it is easier to say than to do it by my own experiance. Other than that I really like the model you have done and I am sharing my oppinion how it can become even better.
