Working Time: A LOT OF TIME !!!

Hello everyone, I am glad I found this website because it seems quite easy to upload your work up here. I think that I can say that I love CG car modeling as I spent a considerable amount of my spare time doing this. I still have so much problems mostly with the rendering. I am using Maya and Mantal Ray but I think that this combination is maybe way too demanding on the power of your system. I saw that a lots of people are using 3D Max and V-Ray for automotive modeling. I am not sure what are the the benefits and the disadvantages there but I woud like to learn more about V-Ray in near future. This is the car that I am working on in the moment I will appreciate any critiques and comments or good ideas for pushing the quality of the renders further.

I like the rear shot but im not too keen on the halo, but that is a personal preference so not to worry dude

The halo was my attempt to get something in that picture that makes the car look a bit more interesting and sort of CG-like but I must admit that it changes somehow the proportions of the car and makes it look a little bit like an ambulance or something, instead of an luxury sport sedan. I am sure it is not so bad idea especially if trying to show that this car is famously safe in the turns but I guess I have to see how to fit those two ideas together without making it look too strange. So here is one shot without the halo and I will upload some more later on. I was hoping that I can initiate some kind of discussion about Mental Ray and V-Ray and what is so fancy about V-Ray that it's not in mental ray and so on.
