    Help for a newbie.

Hey. Ive been looking at renders for years. Wishing i could do something as good as what i see here. But i have no clue where to start. What tools would be best for me to get started with? Something that's straight forward and simple... I've got so many ideas for concept cars that i've drawn on paper. Now i want to take it to the next level...

NFSracer- You need a 3D modeling program like 3D Studio Max, which can cost up to $1500.00. The site has more information about it, you can see the site at http://www.discreet.com/index-nf.htmlAnother program is Rhinoceros, which is a NURBS modeling program. See the site at http://www.rhino3d.com/, there is a try-out at the site. These programs are not simple, atleast that's what I think.

*Note: Can you upload those concept car drawings? I would like to see them, if you can show them to me, Private Message me and I'll tell you where to send them. Thank You.

    Help for a newbie.

If you want to start out legit and on a shoestring budget I'd suggest these.

    Wings3D (free) www.wings3d.com

    Blender (also free) www.blender3d.com

Yafray (free, use as plugin with Wings) http://www.coala.uniovi.es/~jandro/noname/

Povray (also a free plugin used with Wings)
    http://www.povray.org/

Anim8or (basic rendering, modeling not so great but workable. Strong point is with doing animation and rigging. Also free.)
    http://www.anim8or.com

Corel Bryce (about $80 U.S. It's what got me started. Limited boolean modeling, but does a nice job of importing familiar formats that can be exported from Wings or Blender. Has pretty decent render engine with easy material and lighting setup. Some types of lighting features not included, but can be easily simulated using a few tricks.)
