The answer to this seem so easy. You sure this is what you need? Or do you mean a guide to set things up for render?

The guide for rendering is encluded with the software.I also have just purchased 3dsmax6 and i am finding the tutorials complicated.Few guys have posted links in my request for tutorials in the request forum.They made better sense to me than the manual may be there is something there for you to help with rendering.

I am only on the first beginner tutoial editing splines rendering is way a year or 2 ahead off me yet.Hope you find something there to maybe help you out http://www.3dbuzz.com
