Halo 3
There it is... 2 words that make girlfriends cringe and give many gamers multiple nerd-gasms...
September 25th... aaaaahh... September 25th. The day after my birthday. You know, working in the same sorta industry is quite rewarding at times...
My boss would make me come to work if I was bleeding out of my eyes... I hand in a 2 day leave application for September 25th to the 26th for Halo 3 time, and by all means, he grants it. You see? Nerds understand each other, and I must say, it's frickin' sweet!! I'm not taking the 24th off for my birthday, oh no, but for Halo 3?? Hell yeah!!
The Halo series are my favourite games of all time... Their design, their gameplay, their multiplayer. It's brilliant. I was the first one to pre-order my Legendary Edition of Halo 3 at my local Electronics Boutique and all I'm doing now is counting down days!!
So who here is looking out for it as much as me?? What's the first thing you're gonna do in multiplayer?? The weapon you're hanging out to try?? The vehicle you want to hoon in?? Anything Halo 3!!
Share your thoughts!!

Boo yeah! I pumped for Halo 3. I just ordered the Legendary Edition the other day from bestbuy.com. They also had a deal where when you buy any edition of Halo 3 you can buy 1600 marketplace points for only $5 US.
I've been a Halo fan ever since the '99 Macworld video. I took one look at that and could tell that Halo was a game to watch.
Weapon I want to try - portable minigun, mow down covenant, Jesse Ventura stlye
Vehicle - mancannon launched mongoose FTW!

*plasma-nades Catlin*...
...Well, that takes care of that problem...
Onto more pressing issues, what do yous think about the Flame-Thrower and the Elephant mobile base? I personally think the Flame-Thrower is more of a novelty weapon, yet I think it'll hold my attention enough to be used quite a lot. And the Elephant is just an insane sounding vehicle; a mobile spawn-point, houses vehicles & weapons AND from what I understand, has mounted guns... It looks very Jawa though

halo series rocks, yeah the minigun would be my first choice, or that rocket launcher pad thing, that was so awesome. about vehicles, mongoose all the way, they should put boost on human vehicles as well though

Halo 3 is planned for PC, but like Halo 2, PC-goers will have to wait a while...As confirmed by Bungie.net today, not a single line of code has been written for the PC as of yet.
The Mongoose is gonna rock... I can't wait to drive that lil' beauty!! I relied on my best mate to tell me what is was like in the Beta 'cos even though I had access to the Beta, I didn't want to play an unfinished version of the best game ever. After almost 4 tedious weeks of resisting the urge to download, I'm on a clear stretch towards Halo 3!! *dances*

halo is a very very good game. i like it alot and the multiplayer is awesome. i remember halo 2 online, was on it like 24 hours a day.
The single player fell way short on halo 2 and was quite boring honestly. i didn't like it when that tree started talking 'cause it ruined the game, i only really completed it once and hated the part where you used the elite, too boring.
Hopefully they fix all of that in halo 3, at the mo single player looks very impressive. don't know if i will play it much as i will be in uni this year, don't have a 360 yet, hopefully they will bundle the 360 with halo3 and my bro will buy it, but i will take my ps3 to uni

Halo3, awesome game. Its one of the reasons why I will buy a 360. Great that the old assaultrifle is back. I want it, NOW!! Played Halo1 maybe 20 times to the end, everything in the hardest level. Only the libary not, too much flood. Halo2 two was awesome too, the damagemodel was a wonderful idea, and it totally rocked in multiplayer.

Ok, im gunna be slightly open minded here,Can somebody explain to me why its good,i played halo 2 on xbox a long time ago and it just really isnt that great,it was kind of boring, ive tried playing single player in both halo games but just find it crap and them little animal things annoying.the game is just slow and plus its set in some weird future place.it just isnt good. There must be somebody else on the forum or in the world that dosnt like it.

I have to agree with Catlin in some sense. The single player is over rated and dull. the storyline isn't all that great in the previous ones and in reality, they're are minimal variation of enemies. there were only ever 1 or 2 good levels while the others were repetative
Where halo shone was in the multiplayer section. the only game worth the £40 online subscription fee. Other FPS games didn't have the flow of gameplay that halo 2 had, although it could have been improved in some areas. although i have to admit, capture the flag and the other game modes beside Team rumble and rumble slayer were rubbish.

the AI of the 1st one was quite nice, the rest just sucked serious balls. i have to add that i played it on a computer, and until now from the reviews i have read the 2nd one has been as bad as the first one.
texture quality sucks becuase it is not up to date and most important level design is utter crap. i have never been more lost in a game than HALO. i mean seriously you have 2 areas that are completely identical in their stucture and textures only from the corpses was i able to tell one room from the other apart. i mean seriously that is baaaaaad. i somehow managed to play it to an end. but have never played a more repetetive and boring first person shooter in my whole dear life.
maybe it's the devs fault or the fact that it is an offspring from a console, but on a comp it's just not challenging... and brain damaginly boring :? i don't understand the hype around the sequell and now the 3rd release.
EDIT: i only have SP experience, haven't had the chance to test the MP abilities. not that i actually would want to :?

I don't know the exact reasons why I love Halo so much... It's an extremely polished game (well, the first one anyway), but I think it is the story and how it's laid out for you that holds me.
Silent][Moebius, don't forget that the Halo games were released almost a full two years after their original releases... I can understand completely how you feel, however I must say that if you are playing Halo for the PC, you're coming to the party late!! I'd even go as far in saying that I think Halo is the only 1st-person shooter that feels at home on a console instead of a computer.
Now I leave you with my impression of how gansta Master Chief is...

well the fact i hated Halo 1 most was ebcause of the really super-repetitive level architechture. i'm not a graphics fanatic because i don't have the money to buy the hardware. currently i'm playing CounterStrike 1.5 and Diablo2 LoD with a Mod. for me graphics is not everything but story and level architecture is really important. well of the last 2 aspects only the story was ok, so i played it to the end.

The library was the worst level in halo 1. It was hyper repetitive. but halo 2 was really only ever good for the multi player. graphics wise it wasn't all that, but halo 1 i think used bump mapping in a game extensively on a console first, correct me if i'm wrong.
