Gran Turismo 5 not planned for other Consoles, but maybe for PC

No Gran turismo for other consoles, maybe for PC

Gran Turismo inventor Kazunori Yamauchi was recently interviewed in Salzburg and said that it is very very unlikely than Gran Turismo will be released on another console but that it could perhaps come out on the PC. Yamauchi also said that the car damage model will incomparable to other games and that the damage will not only be visible, but the handling characteristics will also accurately be affected. Some other points from the interview: GT5 budget is 5 times that of GT1, he would not comment if buyers of GT5 Prologue will be given a discount or a bonus for GT5 but that you will be able to carry cars and money made forward.

quote:

Translated Interview
Question: Like many work time and resources are into Gran Turismo 5: Prologue?

Kazunori Yamauchi: 120 coworkers worked four years on it. I may not betray the budget, but it was 50 times more highly than from GT1.

Question: Like much work you still become in GT5: Prologue invest, before GT5 appears?

Kazunori Yamauchi: It is not fixed yet, when GT5 appears. With security not before at the end of of 2009. Up to then we are still much strength into GT5: Prologue.

Question: Which cars are still in GT5: Prologue appear?

Kazunori Yamauchi: We want to implement still current models of the season, in addition, completely old cars. For example of Ferrari.

Question: How long does it last to digitize a vehicle?

Kazunori Yamauchi: A model needs 1 days. To the comparison: For a car in GT2 we needed only one day.

Question: Which ONLINE functions will still come?

Kazunori Yamauchi: In the autumn a large update comes. Then it will give a lobby and will know players to Communities, club will educate. GT5: Prologue will ever continue to develop.

Question: Know they the network thought of GT5: Prologue more near describe?

Kazunori Yamauchi: GT5: Prologue is to be a platform for players and automakers and bring together it more near. Manufacturers can present their vehicles and send advertisements, as soon as new model appear.

Question: When is the damage model supplied later?

Kazunori Yamauchi: Presumably in the autumn.

Question: Which difficulties does the development of the damage model cause?

Kazunori Yamauchi: The problem is that the damage model is to reach Gran Turismo level. It should be incomparable to other plays. The damage will be not only optically visible, but the handling characteristics also exactly will affect.

Question: Do they take to data of crash-Tests?

Kazunori Yamauchi: Yes, also. But I may not betray more.

Question: What do you expect from the damage model?

Kazunori Yamauchi: That the Europeans with more honour drive (laughs)

Question: Do weather effects come?

Kazunori Yamauchi: One after the other one. First the damage model comes.

Question: Becomes one in GT5: Prologue in the future as in previous versions used cars to buy can?

Kazunori Yamauchi: It is not planned yet, but I think that it will be possible in the future.

Question: Will it give a discount on GT5 to loyalty bonuses for buyers of the Prologues as a kind?

Kazunori Yamauchi: In addition we can say still nothing, but you will naturally be able to carry the made money and the cars forward.

Question: Will it give in GT5 a formula to 1-Serie?

Kazunori Yamauchi: We would make very gladly one. Details do not give it in addition yet.

Question: Will we see motorcycles in the full version?

Kazunori Yamauchi: By tourist Trophy we have the know-how in addition. Only when and where is not clear yet.

Question: Austria will have soon again its own large racing course. Is there a chance that she occurs in GT5?

Kazunori Yamauchi: Unfortunately I knew to today nothing of it. But I would regard it to me gladly whether she is suitable.

Question: Is there a chance that Gran Turismo appears on another platform?

Kazunori Yamauchi: It is very very improbable that GT on another console comes out. Perhaps but it comes on the PC. Particularly at the Chinese market we could promote so the spreading.

Question: In which direction, you believe, become running plays to develop - to more toward Arcade or realism?

Kazunori Yamauchi: Genuine driving a car makes fun. Therefore more realism cannot harm according to my opinion.

Question: Can you imagine that Polyphony develops also plays off the running play category?

Kazunori Yamauchi: The probability exists. Momentarily however all 120 coworkers with GT are working at full capacity. But a dream of me is to be developed a game of roles with just as high quality as GT. Thank you for her Zeit.(Zsolt William, derStandard.at from the 8.4.200

Think about it, the PS3 isnt that high tech or advanced, so a average computer should be able to run it.

Me!! I got my G25 ready and rarin' to go if it ever comes out on PC

The game does look amazing... Little things they still couldn't get right, like smoke and cars landing, but it still is going to be a marvelous achievement for a racing game.

If only i had a spare $1000 to spend on some hardcore hardware. Sounds cool, but 200k cars x 16 is major.
