personally, Im loving the look of this, and the graphics look amazing compared to the other GTA's. I think the framerate is due to the video compression.

The handelling looks like typical GTA.... fun to mess around in, and controlable.

Damage looks incredible, ragdoll system looks amazing.... all in all, this looks to be an outstanding game


overall after seeing this vid, I can honestly say I am peeing myself waiting for GTA!!!!!

wow the car physics look more realistic, the graphics look pretty damn good aswell, thats it! im getting a ps3 just for this and the gt5 cant wait

i've seen a few vids a user posted on xtremesystems forums. from what i saw in those cam filmed videos, the graphics are awesome but somehow the driving seems to be a bit subpar. like the damage model is total bs. he kept hitting a few light poles at a fairly decent speed and of course the front got a bit deformed, but really not much. later on in some other video he hijacks what seems to be some cop hummer or similar, then turns around and drives head on into another vehicle of the same type, this one driven by a copper. the copper's car is deformed with one part of the car smashed in a typical offset crash way whereas the player's car looks about the same as before, grille hanging at an odd angle and maybe just a hint of crumpelage.. but that is it.
this is a bit of a let-down. also in the same video the guy jumps off some building to get to the actual hummer he's to hijack. first he survives the jump which is about twice the height of a hummer (at least), then he walks up to the cop who's shooting at him with some handgun, with other cops near by. and finally he moves over from the passenger side (where he entered the car) to the driver side and drives off onto his road rage rampage, see above.

i guess i just have to wait and see what's what. the lightning and the city appeared to be pretty solid and were (well from what you could see due to that cam thing) quite good. framerate looked to be not a problem either - but then again, you couldn't see what resolution it was running at - full hd would be awesome. i'm assuming it was the xbox360 version, as that has been leaked i've heard.


oh and here's a question for you guys, and please no fanboi flamage... what'd you think will run gta 4 better, xbox360 or ps3? i'm tempted to get a 360 for gta4 and the pgr series. the ps3 would be for gta4, gt5 and of course metal gear.. but it's considerably more expensive... ides?

@sky^sp... keep in mind that the damage is done that way so the you, as the gamer will have more fun in the game.. imagine if everything was real, you smash one time, switch car, smash again, switch car, smash again, switch car. which leads to the point that if you are doing a mission that is under a timer, or a mission which requires the use of a vehicle.. would you be happy if your car crashed one time and then thats it? you would either fail the mission or waste time trying to get another means of transportation. so yeah, my point is that all of this damage has to be taken into account with the gameplay, satisfy that it 'looks' real but at the same time, not TOTALLY real.

oh, and to answer your question, i would go with 360, IMO cheaper, more games on it, easy to mod (as in so you can play burned games, hey, i did mine myself, free of charge, didnt spend a penny on modding it ) and overall controllers are pretty comfortable

Also as i was saying to gurdeep about the mini games while thieving a car,think of doing that every time you wanted to steal a car,you would get soooo bored of it by the 100 millionth time.
