GTA IV

Talk about gaming juggernauts, the GTA series is quite possibly the greatest line of video-games out there. With GTA IV rapidly approaching, and an estimated $400m in the first week's sales, I don't think there's a gamer out there that isn't the slightest bit intrigued by what's surely going to be THE game of the year.

So let's talk about IV, shall we?...

I know I'm excited about it. Right below the Halo series, the GTA games are all-time favourites of mine, Vice City being the stand-out. Like when Halo 3 was released last year, I'm taking 2 days off work just to sit down and play it. I don't think there's any denying that it's going to be a fantastic game in my opinion. I've already read the reviews in the UK's OXM giving it a 10/10... The last game I remember seeing a 10/10 for was the first Wolfenstein

So I'm interested in the people that are looking forward to this epic game? What are you looking forward to the most? How do you feel about what you've seen in the game? Do you like that it's set in Liberty City all over again??

I'm waiting it for PC if that day will ever come. GTA's has been my favorite games aswell

If it ever comes to pc I'm looking forward to cruise around Liberty City, judging by the pics and trailers there are lot of things to do and see. Especially wanna get drunk in one of the bars Of course waiting that it will be moddable aswell...

I have looked in every site available selling it and all of the PRE-orders are out of stock,theres no chance in hell i will get my hands on it the first day.i have also booked a good few days off work to play it.

and the last game i saw to get 10/10 was bioshock :D

and to be honest no game deserves 10/10

I pre-ordered mine a couple weeks ago, but I dont think I'll get it straight away... unfortunatly

I honestly cannot wait for this game.... I've been re-playing old games just to try and take my mind off it, but I still cant help thinking about how great its going to be....

and the best bit is... usually no matter how great I think a GTA game will be... it NEVER disapoints me!

I totally agree with you though that no-matter what happens, it's gonna be a wicked game 'cos let's face it, it is GTA!!

well....i think i'm old right now... i loved the first and the second. why? bocauce they were sth new back then. And today gameing is about what graphics game developers can make. I remember this one dude in my hometown who had lots of cash and best PC. He also hade enough cash to buy new games, he wasn't finishing them however...he was just turned on by the graphics. To me game have to have good story, without it it's boring to me...that's MO tho. I'm surely gonna play it when it comes out and I'm just hopeing to see some good story there, if not i'll be disapointed.

Oscar, you're in luck because from what I've read so far, IV's story is it's strong point.

Personally though, graphics and gameplay for me are totally equal. You can't have one without the other. You need graphics to convey an atmosphere and a general feel for a game, and you need the gameplay element there to suck you into to the game.

In up-to-date times though, it does irk me when I buy a $120 AUS game for either my high-end PC or 360 and it doesn't push the boundaries with it's graphics.

well....i have to disagree with U. couse i didn't always have the cash for good pc. and i still wanted to play so i set the resolution to minimum and play, because the story in the game. U cannot make 10/10 game without good story, however IMO opinion U can make game 10/10 without top graphics. Look back on titles like Carmageddon, Baldur's Gate, Interstate '76, Legacy of Kain and later Soul Reaver...they were all top games, but they were playable even without thos best graphics effects...

The games that you mentioned there though did have very good graphics for their time. Graphics are only comparible when the game is released. I've loaded up old games that I used to think had brilliant graphics and they're absolute crap, only 'cos back then, they were the benchmark.

I still stand-by my opinion of graphics in games, but I can clearly see and respect where you are coming from

so do I Dr ... tho U got to admit, that game makers these days don't have so much great ideas as b4. there wasn't ever again a game with such a great atmosphere like Carmageddon, the first one ofcourse, no race game can compare to it...the same goes with Interstate...but all that and above are just my opinions. and i respect other's opinions, couse we all have the right to have our own opinions and to change them...so i'm waiting for IV to change mine
