The reason why GTA IV isnt out on computer

because they know they have nothing on mafia 2.

here is an interview.

Preview: Mafia 2 - ComputerAndVideoGames.com

reading some of the interview, i am glad they are keeping with the leave of detail they put into the first game

"The homeless will sleep rough and rummage in bins. Meanwhile, the previous game's strict speed limits are less enforced so police officers will turn a blind eye to somebody coasting at five miles per hour above the limit. In fact, other drivers will likely be doing the same."

"If a driver collides with another car (which occurs at random), both parties will exit their vehicles and exchange insurance details in an amicable fashion. Police will chase criminals if they spot a random crime in progress."

"Prolonged criminal goings-on in one area of the city will prompt the mayor's office to increase the police density in that area, making life difficult for your mafioso upstart. In these cases, bribing the mayor will bring the police presence back down to more manageable levels."

thats the kind of stuff i love in games

i cant wait for this game!!

If you can turn, your not going FAST enough

Nah, man... All the 3D GTA's I remember have always come to PC a bit later than the console's release dates.

but mafia 2 definitely has the graphical edge from what I see. GTA seems to be using a weird filter that makes the game look almost like a painting, when viewing the still images, Is that heat distortion or something? Or perhaps that was just bad screen captures somehow

I haven't heard much about either game's gameplay (I'm trying to keep from spoiling stuff until I get money to buy them) ... but it would seem a big factor for me to like GTA better would be all the miscellaneous stuff you can do, and the fact that I can treat the road anyway I please without it turning into a police chase...

But yeah, I'd expect to hear something about a PC version within at least a year from now, perhaps

from a German based website they have already got an image of the cover for the pc version (im pretty sure its photoshopped) and they also have a release date =/ the website says the PC version of GTA IV is coming out on the 30th of November this year.

Here is the article, i'll let you decide whether its real or not

"Probably all the GTA IV fans are already playing the game on their console of choice, but we should never forget the system that gave birth to the first Grand Theft Auto title - the personal computers. Even though Rockstar hasn't officially confirmed anything, rumors about an October release date for the game started to be heard quite a while ago. Following the console launch (which is definitely a success), Rockstar should officially confirm the PC version (if it really exists) during the coming weeks.

Until then, we have a German website presenting the Grand Theft Auto IV PC version DVD case, together with a price and, what matters most for all of us: the release date. According to the website, the PC version of Rockstar's title will be made available starting the 30th of November this year. What should normally be a further proof that the date is correct (or, at least, that a PC version is in the works) is the fact that pre-order is available. It remains to see how and if Rockstar responds to this... let's call it "leak". They probably won't be too happy, since the official announcement still has to be made.

However, don't take this date as a sure thing. It could be just an attempt of the website to promote itself or nothing but a misunderstanding. One thing is sure, though: the DVD case presented on the website seems real enough for us to believe it's true. We'll keep an eye on it to see if things change during the following days.

Already considered the Game of the Year, Grand Theft Auto IV has just been released for Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles and received numerous 10/10 reviews. The estimated sales for the first week are only somewhere around $6 million and the game is considered to be the title that will save Take 2 from Electronic Arts' acquisition."
