Damn, its still early event though there is crazy detail going into all these vehicles. But I must say I agree I love how your vehicle sits as well. It actually looks like a realistic vehicle, one that could have existed in this future and has now been retrofitted for zombie patrol.

@ tom - thanks,
@ Nitro-x - thanks, it's an M2 Browning 0.50 cal, and the image I found on wikipedia, its as good as side view pictures get... very high res
@Icekid - thanks man, well I don't really like strange sci-fi type vehicles so thats why I decided to make a sort of modernish looking vehicle going for realism of course ,

Anyways it seemed my gun required some work, so I detailed a bit, changed the scope, and apparently this gun can shoot targets 2 miles away as there was someone who actually mounted a scope on this beast, but hell... anyways heres some renders of the new and improved gun, also a dark render to show the laser better

It looks impressive for sure.

About the scope and the laser, maybe you should made them adjustable : if the range extends to 2 miles, the shooter must take care of gravity.

Also, do you really need a handle for this monster : do you imagine a guy taking it away from the car ?

Light is right. That's why I told you about the handle : useless weight is evil

hmmm not really, I mean I have like 550hp coevette engine in there, and so once it gets to speed its weight will become an asset as its momentum will carry it through armies of zombies in theory anyways, but i mean 2-3 kg isnt going to make that much of a difference, its a truck it's supposed to keep up with this weight but ah well you right Im just coming up with random reasons

Wont Heavy be good? Because you have bigger Armor and Firepower? Looking real bloody! I wouldnt want to see this if i was a Zombie! BTW, your scope seems short, long range scopes are quite long. Also, i dont want to say anything about the laser, or else im gonna get told of about the laser stuff

I was just kidding about weight. If you're going for a supercharged LS7 in this beast, it won't matter anymore !

finished the interior, not going into more detail as as I said before no interior renders...also changed the mood of the renders

You should really model the steering wheel. Otherwise, the interior looks good.

The exterior is just awesome, it looks really powerful and impressive. You really managed to capture the "anti-zombie vehicle" spirit that there is in most movies.

Keep up the good work !

car is looking great, though i'm a bit confused what you want to snipe with that big gun? but i guess it doesn't matter.

i would advise to complete the piping of the exhaust system ecause atm it looks a bit strange

@ tom... model steering wheel I will do it later then, you can hardly see the interior anyways... well yeah I thought it looked quite coolish so Im keeping it I think.

@S][M maybe snipe zombies at the top of a hill where they cant get, you, and they are hundreds of meters down, target practice lol... My real reason is that it looks cool... fixed the pipes

@ Marts & greenvampire thanks guys

here is an idea that came into my head for the rear bumper, Im not sure it works..also attached pic of the exhausts pipes -now you can see they dont just stop in mid air

The rear view looks really like a head, well done. Animal and terrifying, at the same time.

I like that you started to add welds. Did you do them with metaballs ? If so, you should put more and blend them more. They're just a bit too simple at the moment, but it's already a nice start.

thanks guys, yeah I will do something about the tailgate, its too plain atm, the welds are manually placed spheres.....It was quickly done, I will make them better and fix them up soon.

For now I was messing around with 3ds particle system to get a flamethrower effect, here is what I have so far. Also attached a pic of the truck with the lights on
PS updates will be much slower for like 3 weeks as my prelims start this friday ....

Flames and lights are really well done. What about combining both effects on a single render ? Can't wait to see more progress from you.

Do you think you're done with modeling ?
