Looking good! But the side reflections are way too stretched imo. Do you know of any tutorial regarding shooting our own HDRIs?

We are all limited with the fact that the photo is a finite number of pixels, while in real life it is infinite. But again, look at my car in the reference photo. It too has some stretching of the side reflections, certainly not super sharp. Taken at the same location but on a different day. At the side of this location are railway lines - so I do expect some staright lines in my reflections.
I could put together a basic tutorial about creating your own HDRIs. It does require some additional equipment - but is possible with simple equipment. Woudl people be intersted in a basic tutorial ?

I would certainly be interested, i have the camera but I think i lack the pano head. Found this one the web now: Tips & Tricks FAQ gonna give it a read later, so much text![]()
Ha... isn't that T3i you are having? I have500d/T1i and although they aren't much difference in family except for megapixel size and LCD Twist and ettl ready build in flash. Yet, all TXi's family's awesome especially with HDMI feature which is a MUST!
I can see your last render look A LOT better than previous one, back ground look much improved.
And PBenjamin --If budget is issues for you on getting panohead, you could alternatievly create homemade panohead using woods or sometype of brackets... Until you have money to buy real one....You can find tons of it in google see here --> DIY Panoheadi lack the pano head.

I'll try and make a quideline on making an HDRI. The HDRI Labs website is excellent.
Thanks. I'm not sure - here are the specs ( EOS600D ). It is really good.
Here is an updated render. I was trying to get something similar to the bronze metallic colour the new Focus ST will use.

Back in Scotland on holiday. Last week has been storms and rain.
But today the sun came out.Nice low glowing sun, lovely diffuse light. So I managed to get a few new locations shot.
Here is a little test of one beside the sea.
I've also been working on the model a bit more, lots of little tweaks and a very sinmple interior trim and dashboard.
@EquiNOX : I've included my settings for the Ultimnate Green paint. I'll look out the yellow one later.

Love the last render dave, nice environment. Model looks real.![]()
It looks great! One thing - the rear side windows have a darker frame around them. I know it's barely visible on darkened glass but here are two pictures. On the second one you can see it with darkened windows.
I hope you understood what I mean!![]()

Sun came out again ... in between the rain clouds. Found a fantastic road over the moors. A single track road and grabbed another location shot.

Wow, imho best render so far! Looks fantastic, and incredibly realistic.
Looking better and better man! But I still think the rims material can be improved, they look a bit mattish compared to the reference photos. Keep working![]()
Shadow under the car is very strong and strange in a same way, and also you have somewhere hole in your car... Overall very beautiful image, like most of your works. And its mental ray, right?
Mindaugas182
I have adjusted them. But they are a bit mattish in real life.
I was out taking a photo by the seaside when this parked next to me.
As you can see the wheels are not super shiny.
Also the camera just does not capture the green paint well in these images. It is very nice in real life.
