Today's day was spent playing with texture again and some concept-test renders ...
    1. Tried to achieve some dusty look, but ended up with sort of more rusty and muddy look... lol
    2. Got a nice image with desert scene... so had some fun with test renders to see how it would look and here are a few that i tried. Total time spent for setup ~2 hrs, no postwork of any sort in photoshop.

As always awaiting your crits/ comments...

    Cheers,
    SamIAm

@blackleo, Thanks for the comment mate...

I'm aiming for a final render with military camouflage itself... although i want to give it rusted and worn-out look... and since this is my first ever attempt of texturing i'm rather going with the flow and trying to add everything that would add to overall realism. Lets hope when i add base coat of military camouflage everything still stays close to reality...

Fun fact - the model body-hull texture is mirrored from center ... so all changes i'm doing are getting copied on both sides lol, so the final render will have to be from a side view...

    Cheers,
    SamIAm

    Hello all,

looks like all previous images attached with past posts before the "Apocalypse" are gone. Anyhow, coming back to this thread and to this model after a very long time with a few new updates...

Done some work on interior/ dashboard /steering column and gear-stick...
Hopefully will be going for seats next.

As always please keep your C&C coming. In addition to that, I also had a request for helping me out with texturing this model... I have no experience in this area at all, and anyone willing to help will be an Angel! I am ready to share the credit in final renders for him as well...

    Cheers,
    SamIam1

Thanks for appreciating and stopping by guys...

Spent todays day, creating seats (nothing fancy) and elevating the hull-bottom a little as it was colliding with chasis frame earlier. What remains now is mainly headlights and accessorising, which will continue from tomorrow onwards.

Anyone with tips for texturing this model... please help.!

    Cheers,

Hi! Thnx for comments I appreciate that! Like what you have now! Only have question about tire thread - I think it's a little bit small than original - here is example: NetCarShow.com I already have those tires, need it for one project. When you start modeling thread just count how many holes or extruded parts it has if I'm right - it has 40 extruded parts on tire. Keep it on will follow it!

Thanks Rsenal... did notice that... planning to rectify it in coming days...
Todays update - figured out railings at the back and the Jerry Can with its holder... some straps will be put around to secure it tightly...

Facing a lot of problems while rendering the model now... it keeps on crashing frequently which is really annoying. Can someone help to figure out the reasons for crash? any logs that max creates which can show the reason? This is the first time i have created any detailed work at all, so not sure if Max crashes so much at 807k polyes (before turbosmooth - 2 iterations).

Thanks for your help and comments...

Thanks lackes, will surely have a look at it...

Not much accomplished today - fine tuned the can-holder to fit better, added the holding strap and started with the gun-assembly. Planning to add the Browning-M1919 Machine-gun to the setup, which is what I found on most of the Jeep models... Blueprints available are for side-views only so referring to images available on net... lets see how it turns out.

Still facing crash-issues during renders for max, i'm afraid i will be able to render final completed model or not...

Another day ... another update -

Worked only on machine gun today... almost completed it (well thats what i feel from the reference pics that i have ) will be adding more details and a long bullet-strip fed into it(instead of conventional ammo-box)... Other than that its almost done.

I know it aint a car... but yeah CnC are still welcome!

    Cheers,
