whats the best way to do that?
This is the way I try and show my WIP shots.
Just make a standard material with a bit of glossiness and and some specular like in my screenshot. And then just go to Tools -> Grab Viewport. Make sure you have shaded mode on in the viewport and just press F4 to change from shaded to shaded + wireframe mode.
hey that looks mighty familiar lol
this is with nurms on and a few bits are rippled

You really dont have enough edge loops in the body to keep a proper shape when you apply a smooth to it. Take a look in the forums Advanced section and see the wireframes of some of the cars in there, you will see their polies are pretty evenly spaced and they arent relying on the turbosmooth to make it that smooth.
OK I know what you are saying. Ill cut into it a bit and make the polys more uniform.
whats the best way to cut a panel out? I have tried extruding and using width, and also camferring with an open camfer
sorry I meant how do you make the gap between your guards/doors/bonnet etc
I have 3ds max 2013
Ooooo HD ute. Great to see you doing this.
Looks like an OK start. As Prykie said just try to keep everything even. You've got the basic shape, just keep refining it. Will be a cracker. Will keep watching.![]()
Here is a textured render...
