    [GTA:SA] Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversario

Started making this a couple weeks ago to bring into GTA:San Andreas. I've decided to put my Murcielago on hold for a couple months because I'm having trouble rendering it. Instead, I decided to make something that could be done quicker so it can put it in my portfolio.

I'm setting my budget at 80,000, and right now its 15,022 tris. It's modeled in Maya, and will be imported into Max to set it up for San Andreas. The upper parts of the car haven't been worked on much, so they look pretty nasty right now.

I've never brought anything into San Andreas before, so if anyone has any pointers I'll gladly listen.

    C&C is welcome.

    Good, that's my goal

@ DJP and LOST - Yeah, I just HAD to model the Countach since it's one of my favorites.

@ schaefft - Glad to hear it's not too hard. I've tried importing some models into Unreal Tournament 2004 before, but never could figure it out.

Did some work on the Shoulder scoops, a taillight piece and the little antenna piece. The downside is the shoulder scoops added more polys than I thought it would, 1856 tris apiece. So now the total is 19,420 triangles. Just noticed a couple things I could do to reduce the poly count for the shoulder scoops, so I'll add those in my next update.

@ mpfive - thanks man. Although, I'm getting a little worried about the poly count. I still have to do the tires, interior, engine, other external bits, and the 2 trunks (well, one of them is to store a spare tire and a few other things). I think the engine will add quite a bit because of all the little things in it.

Added the lights to the front and the parts around the exhaust. Also, managed to get the shoulder scoops down to 1779 tris. Total count is now 22,276 tris.

    looks awesome

is the panel where the exhausts stick out through flat? cos if it is you could weld up some of the verts there to save some tris...

Thanks. Yeah, I noticed that some polys could be saved after I posted, so I thought I'd go through some pieces and start reducing extra polys. Managed to take out some from the rear bumper, rear light area, exhaust pipes, and exhaust pipe surrounding piece.

lol. Just found couple more I could take out. Now the total is 22,008 tris.

not a problem man, my p5 is at 50k, maybe 55k now, and thats with no interior (but everything else done) and its for san andreas too, so dont worry, you have plenty of polies to waste

Worked on the hood, roof, and the side windows. Total poly count is now 26,498 tris.

@ mpfive - Yeah, I just want make sure it stays within the poly limit. I know SA can handle high poly models well, but I'd like my model to be a fairly efficient model.

Worked on the tires yesterday and cleaned up a few things. Poly count is now 48,302 tris when the tires are duplicated to the other side. No texture for the tires yet, so think of them as "racing slicks"

@ LOST - thanks. This week I will try getting the model in the game and get started on the other parts.

Worked on the headlights today and started adding some textures to the car. Poly count is now 49,792 tris.

@ schaefft - Thanks. Yep, still lots to do, but I'm hoping that I can get it done quickly (but without a loss of quality).

    @ mpfive - Thanks man

@ 99GsTurbo - Thanks. Yeah, it has been a while. Just try not to crash the car too much when you get the keys
