Custom 1986 Dodge Daytona

Hi guys (and gals?), here's something I'm working on recently instead of drinking booze (as most people do these days).
A custom sportcar based on 1986 Dodge Daytona. I might have already shown it here.
Long story short - I just downloaded the original mesh, which looked like this:

...and started adding air intakes here and there just for fun, until it started to look like this:

There's not much left from the original, maybe the side window trims and the mirrors (which I am intending to replace, anyway).

More pics (click to enlarge):

Further plans:
-modelling an interior, maybe with a rollcage installed
-installing an engine from modern Dodge Viper (original engine was crap)
-those tail light textures are bad ---> get good ones
-replacing those poor wheels with, uhm... less poor wheels.

Stats:
Vericles: 12977
Faces: 12974
Tools used: modeled mostly in 3ds max, textured mostly in Zmodeler v1.07b.

Looks nice but you should mention the real artists name as well.

That's pretty awesome work chief. Why did you not just model the car from scratch? It seems you have a pretty good grip on your skills, that's all :?

Nice improvement from the basis model.

But I agree with *RedStar*, you should specify who owns the credits for the original model.

Currently project : Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster
Previous : Marcos 10 GT (60's winner), Ariel Atom II (LightIsRight winner), SuperSeven (WZA #4)

Thanks, but I really don't know who the original author is... Anyway, I am not using the mesh for getting any profit and there will be no public release aswell.

Thanks! Well, I've modeled some cars from scratch before, but I just didn't feel modelling this one from scratch at all... plus there're no blueprints available for this one (which is a common problem with old US-made cars).

Thanks, as I said above, I don't know the author thus I can't dive a direct credit to him, neither I can ask for permission. Fells like it's a freeware model, but I'm not sure.

Okay, but you should know that releasing a model as freeware doesn't mean it's public domain. Maybe the original author has released it for free only under some terms of usage.

That's what is called a license, like CreativeCommons for example. Please read Creative Commons licenses - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for more information.

In this case, if the original author is unknown, and if the license under which the model was released is also unknown, you can do what you want, until the author shows up and proves he's the author and asks you something.
