They are actually supposed to be black originally. I just couldn't find a decent pic of a black wheel. I'm sorry for confusing you, and I know it's hard to see how they really are in a screenshot. Just trust me. I know my VW history

If the background wasn't black you wouldn't have been confused, so if FSR changes the background... problem solved

Anyhow great work and look forward to more stuff from you in the future.
Thanks dude. Not too happy about the textures myself, but thanks anyway. I just need better reference pics. Looks ok on the screenie, but up close it's a bit blurry

Why does everybody comment on my wheels? The first set are allready explained. The ones in the last screenie are the very rare Sears Rader wheels. They were only produced for a short while back in the 1960's, and were unique as they had a magnesium center. Nowadays, finding real original Raders are almost impossible and you'd have to pay at least $1500 for a set.

So I ask you guys again: Don't question my knowledge of aftermarket VW parts unless you have some knowledge yourself. It's just annoying. I post my project to get consructive feedback on my model, not to spend hours finding proof to document that my wheels are in fact an authentic aftermarket wheel from the 60's...

Anyway, here are some pics of the wheels. Even one showing them on a single-cab... I've also attached an original ad from the 60's. And yes, there are two designs on this wheel. I chose the ones with the flat spokes to save poly's...

Yeah, I guess I'll make a show version as well. It doesn't take anything but removing a layer in Photoshop

Looks really nice - and clean. I hope the exhausts attachment hooks have failed, not that the exhaust is supposed to hang so low. The car looks lovely, i really can imagine a Porsche 6 cylinder boxer in it....

The exhaust has to hang that low to clear the body and the bumpers. Adn to fit a 6 cylinder porsche engine you'd had to cut a lot in the body, and I would obviously not do that to an untouched, never restored, early 60's single-cab

I might make both, but quite often, when you see a rat-looker like this, you are in fact fooled. Some of them are completely restored, apart from the body. So the underbody could be painted with 10 layers of clearcoat and every nut might be shiny. Also, it's quite common to have stunning wheels and lot's of NOS (New old stock, not "naaaws") accessories...

And that's the look I'm aiming for. A real sleeper. A body that survived 40 years of use in all weather conditions, but underneath it will be a fully rebuildt and tuned monster. Berg 5-speed tranny, Quaife LSD, 2332ccm engine with 48IDA's, a turbo muffler like this one (in chrome of course), Porsche 356 drum brakes, and £1500 wheels A ride to scare the Civic racers

BETA RELEASE FOR RACER

Well, since RSC is still down without any form of explanation, I'm posting this here. I usually don't release beta versions, but this is just to much fun not to share

The ini is very temp, and based on the Porsche 914 ini by IH8COPS. The sounds are also from the Porsche. I feel a bit bad for stealing them, but it's just temp of course...

Bumpers are missing, as I need to model new ones. There are also some more gadgets and items to be added later.

Anyway, enjoy

Like everyone say's great texturing, But IMO the xhaust pipe is ugly and un-realistic, it also ruins the car IMO.

Stop chasing the stars; just sit down and watch TV.
