very clean mesh after meshsmooth,
but tell me, why do you use textures for lights,
why dont you model them?

@ Jille ;
And offcource a fluffy pink dice hanging on the rear view mirror .

@ revelli ;
I have modeled almost all the lights, i only use textures for some bumpmapping. The rear lights are less modeled and rely more on the texture, maybe i will try to model these lights.

I am almost done now, it only needs licence plates and some detailing at the connection of the front wipers. Then i will try to tweak the materials, after that it's pimping time

Nice details.

When you render, put a black box or something behind the grill and between the wheels.
It will look less empty.

What's Up Dread, your V-dub is coming along nicely, I can't wait to see the final work. I want to know what kind of lighting technique you were going to use for your final render. May I suggest you use a GI or equivilent so your work doesn't look as flat, and to illuminate the scene a lot more to bring out some highlights and shadows; I understand what you've shown are just test renders. Keep posting, and good work.

I have used light tracer now, but i am looking into some tutorials for GI so maybe i will make some renders with using this also.

Here are the final renders of the standard version.

I did alot of things to it, i adjusted alot of the topology of the door and the D pillar, and made a completely new non textured rearlight.

I am now starting on the tuned version and already completed the rim;
It is of my own design.

Like to hear some CnC

Nice modelling there, but renders could be better.
Try brazil or vray.

the renders can definetly use improvement, but i don't have vray or brazil ops: , so i am trying to get some good results with the scanline render.

@3dmoogy;

Which wire render do you mean?

Anyways, here is a wip of the brake disk.

I saw someone on cgtalk who posted how to do this, so it is not my invention

1. Create a map with a gradient-ramp-map in the diffuse chanel
2. Asign it to your model and add a UVW-mapping modifier to it
3. set the mapping to face.

Hope it will help

The brake is finished, i only need to adjust the materials, especially the material on the brake disc itself.

Looks really good modeling-wise, but the renders need work, as people here have said. And one suggestion; Please change the colour of the ground, pleaase. That green-brown-whatever does not give justice to this model.

put BREMBO on the brakes :wink: almost every tuner has those....

nice rims, i think you have to put away the logo to put the rim on? and then put it back right?

Dutch Greetings :wink:

I will indeed put brembo on the brakes .

I am currently also building a scene for the golf. It will be something like a stand on a carshow like sema.

The textures still need work and there will be some things around the stand.
