Another update on the scene, still a very wip scene though.

lol not bad, but i still see these cars on the street. so dunno what they would be doing at a car show. Unless its fully modified.

Well, the idea behind the scene is not that it is a new car now, but it was a new car a few years ago .
I studied some reference pics of the introduction show of the VW Golf II CS when it was first introduced, and some reference pics of the golf aniversary show and this is what i came up with.
It will also be the scene for the tuned version but then it will have some pictures on the wall of modified things like on tuning shows.

@peacetaker;
I am no fan of the golf, but i own one nevertheless they are just machines that run for ages .
And the specifications sheet is indeed ripped from the autotrader site hehe.

I am now in the process of trying to render a test scene with the golf but i keep getting raytracer out of memory isues :? .

The scene i was building is completely scrapped due to the raytracer out of memory isues (it was to beautifull for my pc ). I will make a more lowpoly scene after i finish the tuned version.

The tuned version will be a widebody inspired by the rieger gto bodykit. The overall lines are there but the front and rear bumper and the rear sideskirt still need to be further adjusted.

I made some progress;
Almost finished the front bumper, still need to fix some things on that and make an intercooler behind the large airintake . side skirts also almost finished and i begun building the rear bumper (still a very early build).

Im not trying to be an asshole or anything but wow man the bodykit you put on it is just horrible. The modeling is very bad. Its to smooth. And alot of pinching. Just keep it stock for now or maybe give it another try. I love the stock version tho

well hock: thats indeed some comment but honnest, and that's what i like. maybe its me but that bodykit is supposed to be that smooth :S (maybe some peeps don't like this style) cause it is heavilly inspired on an existing bodykit for the golf. the front bumper and sideskirts does indeed show some pinching but will be fixed. The sideskirt is indeed to smooth cause it is missing some extruded edges (escpecially on the corners ) ... and the thing below the front bumper (dunno the name) is not done yet (forgot to mention that in the last update)

And it's not supposed to be some kind of veilside ultra designed bodykit, just some simple old-school bodykit. Maybe i will make some veilside like bodykit in the future, dunno (maybe it won't fit the car tho design wise)

That Golf looks stunning and I can't see the pinching he is talking about, the bodykit is a bit to smooth for the age of the car, but that happens. EXCELENT WORK!!

well, the roof, isn't done yet, that normally has a rubber strip or something, umm the pinching as you call it is just some minor normal adjustment and I don't see how the side skirt is too smooth, too smooth for what?

redstar, your indeed right about some things but let me first say that if you read my posts than you should have known that i have not begun moddeling the rear bumper (its just some raw form now).
And the roof connection is (as VQcapricedude mentioned) just the rubber line which i excluded. Didn't need to render it cause it's only a wip render of the bodykit not the whole car.
The pinch in the rear fender is there cause i haven't planned out yet how to make it (needs to become some kind of hard edge between the rearlight and fender like on some wide bodykits).

The pinching on the front bumper is indeed true and have already been fixed and the sideskirt was indeed missing some ectruded edges which is also fixed.
But thanx for posting these pics tho, but to call this horrible and very bad moddeling was quite paifull and hard critic which is a little over the top imo (remember, its a wip not a final model)
Here is the render with the fixed things;

Update:

I am almost finished with the bodykit itself (front and rear bumper and sideskirts) but i am having some trouble with the side intake in front of the rear fender. The corners have some pinching witch i can't seem to fix :? .

And some wires:

Subd 2

no Subd

Hope to get some C&C on this one

hmm thereis still some errors on the frontbumper
and some parts dont look good especially on the sides
the wires look a bit messy and too crowded in palces
looks as if you modelled the bumper seperately
thats why you get connection problems and alignment problems
try to fix those
try to rebuild some surfaces and itll work out just fine

Everybody gotta wear clothes, if you don't you'll get arrested

I did indeed model the tuned parts seperate, which indeed causes some errors. especially the corners of the front bumper. Will work on that .
But the side does indeed look kinda weird.....although it's quite clean, i think it's the hdri map i used. I will look into it.
Thanx m8
