Cord 812 Westchester

Some of my old models (Rhino and POV-Ray).
The standard and "supercharged" versions. I also have Cord Phaeton and Hupmobile/Graham (used same body as Cord) versions of the subject.

Damn, this one looks really good. Very well modelled and textured. Just great. I wanted to model the cord 810 cabrio (or the 812?) some months ago, but I didn't start the project yet. Very well done!!!

I forgot to mention that the color schemes of the cars in the images are original.

There were two types of convertibles: a four-seater, called "Phaeton" and a two-seater called "Convertible coupe". (The later one is often referred to as "Sportsman", but according to reliable sources, this is not an official name for the Cord convertible. It appeared because in the original sales literature the car was referred to as "Sportsman's": meaning the driver was a sportsman not the car).

As for distinctions between "810" and "812": 1936 models are "810" and 1937 models are "812". The fact that the superchargered engine was also introduced in 1937 means that every superchargered Cord is a "812" (and most of them have external exhaust pipes.) However, some of the standard Cords from 1937 are "812" as well.

In Mafia the cars were named Thor 810 and thor 812. Its a great game. I love the old cars in this game.

My words exactly.
I don´t know why the images don´t show on my computer. I am very curious to see them. Have you got a site or a place where they are hosted? The Coffin-nose Cord is one of my favourites. I have been long planning to model it, but as i can see from your avatar it has alreay been done justice (i seldom do models others have done so proficiently)

He can repost them and they should work, another victim of the image crash we had that knocked out images posted on SMCars from January 14th to Febuary 27th.

Here's the repost... Hope they won't dissappear again.
I have an *almost* ready 4-seater convertible, will post soon.

Marvellous
The silver is my favourite.
Have you tried to render the model with a GI render solution? It would look even more terrific.

Very nice, you can give me the black one.. .

The funny thing is I never thought about these old cars, normally i look at all those fast pimped and luxure cars, but you make 'them' look really 'attractive' cars. Maybe i find these cars also nice because I have seen them in a Game..

Anyway, to make a long story short, nice job done with the car!
