i decided to go into rendering a bit more

I like it, simple and elegant and all those fancy words, yet something I couldn't possibly do.

But whats WIP about it?

I just don't see it as a photorealistic render, that is why it is wip.

there is render in progress which will have 10 times the photons per sample and the sample area will be 10 times larger as well.

have you tried those egz materials from www.vray.info ?
They give some pretty dope glass results.
