I'm in the middle of applying at a tech school in Toronto, Canada, and they've asked me to do a few renderings that arent automobile based and have more of a complete feel to em. So here's what I've done so far today...

Just wondering what else ya'll think should be done to the scene, and where I may have made some mistakes.

What Cheetah said is true. Thouhg I would also suggest at least one more different plane texture. Other than that, it looks great.

It looks good apart from some lighting conflicts.
The sun is obviously very low in the horizon, yet the shadows do not represent this at all.

lackadaisical >> hey!, I was waiting for someone to point that out...... I just cnat figure out how to get it working right. I know my current technique of using a skylight is not right at all for this scene, but what other lights would work?

you need to make skylight a bit darker and put an omni for shadows and make the airplane material a bit more reflective... anyways good job

the scene would look better like this.. just need the airplane to have more reflection

The second image is better with the tower, and second plane placement. The lighting is off as stated earlier. I think if you add a couple other omni's it might help. Also, the scene is still a little bland, needs a little more activity in it. A cargo carrier perhaps, even a ground crew would help. Also, maybe lighting the tower Airports always seemed to me as being very busy places, even the small ones. Over all your doing a good job.

Try to learn something new each day!

Update!!!!

thinking about adding a small building in between the two hangars, and then some stuff in the control tower, maybe lights in both..... maybe a forklifts yet, not sure.

Lets see what ya'll think first. I gotta have this done by tomorrow night.

Some luggage trucks would be good...as well as aforementioned forklifts and maybe a bus to transport the passengers off the plane with the airstairs...

Also, to look more like most jets around today, you should put the wings at the bottom of the fuselage...

Hawktoey >> you think its about there? thanks man

but for the ground textures. I chose it to be so bumpy cause I wanted to give the feeling that this place was OLD.... a little shoot-off from the main bigger airport and their just using it to store planes, etc. Just wamnted to try something a bit more delapidated (I think thats the spelling)

Anywho, I already sent the pic to the college, so who know.... *fingers crossed*
