That white spot on the hood is a bit disturbing. Is that a light that the car is reflecting?

yeah its a bit strong that specularity...do you have a tft monitor with high contrast because well on my crt the effect is a lot less strong while on my laptop monitor its disturbingly strong...maybe I should tone it down a bit..

Thanks for pointing it out

yeah I see what you mean about the tire spec..hope these are better...

ok...been tweaking again..lowered spec on the paint repositioned lights and brightened up the interior...I think I am pretty much done..feeling that warm fuzzy feeling of satisfaction (might be that warm fuzzy feeling of insomnia but who cares...lol), let me know if everyone is happy with it as it is...if not then tough...lol...naah I will make some changes if I think its necesary...other than that I will just wait for the crits and then make the neccesary changes and render some nice big wallpaper sized images tomorow (with a higher quality gi setup)...

First Camera Angle:

Pretty happy with this one..not much that I am not happy with...maybe I will see more mistakes tomorrow...

Second Camera Angle:

I like this one a lot...only thing that bothers me a bit is the slightly washed out looking interior..might turn down the lighting a bit after all to fix this

I will be working on some more camera angles from the back of the car and some from the sides...but because they require a completely new lighting rig I will have to spend some time tweaking them...for now this is it...

Tell me what you think and mention anything that you would like to see changed...thanks

really??...strange...don't think it its too narrow...especialy from the front view it would look very stretched (like a pizza) if I were to make it wider..

Loooks wide enough,
very good job on these renders!!
I think you mgiht want to consider a HDRI?? If im mistaken and your not using a program that is capable of using HDRI im sorry But i think it will lightn up your car with some really fantastic reflections, also will give you paint a better look. Thats about it.

Yeah some HDRI map would be nice. And it's not too wide. This is a small car

ahh...ok well what I wanted to achieve with this render was not the ultimate in realism...it had to look real but also have that surealistic look of those cuper clean car ad images, I have used a hdri map to map that white reflection onto the car and for the headlights...I don't really like those renders where the car is in a white environment but is reflecting trees and sky and all that from a hdri...so I would prefer to make a studio render like this (hope I achieved the effect) and then latter make a proper scene for this car to show it off with some more realistic reflections..

Hope you understand..

I like your last render. I looks very good imo. You certainly captured the studio feeling in it. Maybe you can make the background a little bit lighter of color, it's a little bit too dark imo.
I really think you should make a realistic environment for this car, it would look great

thanks chester for the nice comment, I am happy that I managed to somwhat capture the studio feel in these renders as that is what I was going for...I would love to make an environment but have a very little idea of what to make...something that won't take as long as the car but still won't look out of place...any ideas?..

About the background...I made it fairly dark so as to make the car (which is pretty bright) pop out at you more...I think I suceeded so I will not change that...

Bigger renders soon

Cheers

here is the wallpaper #1. (second is rendering as we speak)

Stats.

Res: 1600/1200 Perfect for resizing for different destops...anyone wants a wide screen version just let me know by pm..k?...

Rendering stats:

Took 2 hours 45 minutes to render fully and then about 10 m in paintshop pro to add finising touches...

3,465,655 polys ad 47 different shaders...

Vray Advanced and gi lighting...

Watch out 56k people, to keep the wallpaper in good quality it is over 800K so it might take a while to load...hence the thumbnail thanks to imageshack.us...

Well the second image is coming,

Nova

Something missing, not sure what.
Maybe reflections on headlights glass covers?
Add some IOR in glass reflections.

yeah those headlight reflections...currently I am starting to get really pissed off with this model so I think I will leave it for a while...might come back to it latter though...to finish off some of the interior textures and work on another type of render...don't have the energy right now though...lol

Cya...
