Hey first post here....been doing cg for about 7 months and thought I should post something here...I have been working on this (my second) car for a few weeks now and am just about to start texturing it...seems the perfect forum for this so I will see how good the commnity is here....would appreciate some helpful criticism or comments...and I accept all feedback...positive and negative as long as it is contructive...

and starting on the mat ids....no proper shaders yet and not the final colours...

Hope you like it and thanks...

Welcome to the forum!
I've followed your modeling work on CGTalk and it's great!
One comment - i think your rottors don't fit the car, because drilled rottors come usually with sport car and you have an ordinary 206.
Keep it up.

If it ain't rollin' right, it ain't rappin' right

thanks...about the disks...your right...plain old 206s don't usually have drilled disks but as you might have guessed from the head and brake lights and the rims I have taken the liberty to add parts as I felt like it...I am pretty happy with the look of it...wanted a sort of semi tuned...look...

The bend above the rearlight should be more visible. The rest looks splendid! (Though I personally don't like the 5door version)

polymodelling but part by part not box...

Hope this clears it up...I might make a wire render if I get some time...takes bloody ages to turn all the meshsmooth mods off...

its been a while....exams over tomorow....yeah!!...anyway, I have finally got a few hours of work done on this...and finally for all the people waiting for it ...here it is (at least a very rough start to it anyway) , finally started working on the texturing (lighting and environment)...please keep in mind when you crit this that it is very early I am still messing with the settings and look of the render (definitely need some help if I want to get it done this century lol)....

and I am planning to first make a super-clean studio render and then maybe make a proper outside scene to show it off fully...

This rendering and texturing business has really made me sweat..not easy at all IMO....its also my first time I am really rendering a car and a project of this size so I guess that can only be expected....

Now for the crits...

Anyone who can help me get the render that I want please crit the *XXXX* out of it and help me change it from the current image which screams *CG* *CG!!!!* to something worth of the time I have put into this model...

Cheers

...this is the latest...

interior not textured properly yet...just the standard shaders used to make the mat ids...to give an idea of what it will look like

I think I am now getting what I want....slowly

Let me know what you think

Thanks
