learned myself something

So, i spent most of the past two days trying to teach myself textures and lighting, and i think i finally got somewhere, as a result, i have this to show you all.

needs a little more work, you may notice the tv's shadow now shows that its floating, and im really not happy with the window molding.

but its coming along quite swellingly, im gonna mess with the light some more, try and make it more natural.

probably should chamfer some stuff too...

Oh, and the stupid shadows near the corners of the walls on the back, i think thats because of the decay or aliasing or something, and instead of the shadow being cut clean, it bleeeds through the cracks, i just need to make those walls a little thicker i think.

Problems with shadows not "sticking" to nooks and crannies are often related to sampling radius (if you're working in MR or such), maybe work checking out.

You've got the "windows" effect in two hours and I never even got to trying to sort lighting properly, so you're winning at least over here haha. Keep it up man.

Cheers!

Mein god I dunno how that could happen. If you post a screen maybe someone can nail it. I been using it just fine on raw poly and subd alike.

Are you meaning MR material rather than MR render engine maybe?

That be final gather settings/radiusing, or lack thereof. It's the basic trouble starting out with MR usually. Check the "indirect illumination" panel in render dialogue and see about your settings against a basic MR lighting tut. It just takes some getting used to.
